So based on the information you present that means that 60% of the population actively practices a faith or religion. No wonder the crime rate is lower... that, and the fact that they have few people than the US so you can't really compare "apples to apples" in this case. Thanks for showing us that faith in God really does make a difference.

Just because the Czech Republic is 40% athiest, and most of the Christians and churches are in Prague, that does not equate to the statistics.
What you are alleging is that since crime rate is lower in the Czech Republic, then it must be because there is a 40% athiest population in that country. This is not a true statement. There are other factors that are not stated that contribute to the low crime of the country compared to the crime rate of the U.S. Secondly because most of the churches and Christians are in Prague does not equate to a higher crime rate just because of their presence there.
Here are some statistical data on Prague;
There is a higher concentration of Neo-nazis in Prague than in any other part of the country. Is this the reason for a higher crime rate? Could be.
There is a higher concentration of people per square mile in Prague than in any other part of the country. Is this a reason for a higher crime rate? I think this one has a great bearing on the crime rate. The higher the concentration of people anywhere, the higher the concentration of crime.
Most of the churches, mosques, temples are in praque. Is this a reason for a higher crime rate. I think it is incidental because there is a higher concentration of people in Prague than anywhere else in the country.
The economy is one of the best in Europe with a low rate of unemployment. This could definitely be a reason for a low crime rate.
The country is slightly smaller in square mile than South Carolina with approximately 10+million residents. This is another definite possibility as to why there is a low crime rate.
As you can see, there are many other factors that could be contributing to the low crime rate of the country, but high crime rate of their capital. You have not directly linked the crimes as being perpetrated by any religious group, however, there are specific crimes listed that I have read about that are being committed against Christians, Jews, and Muslims in the way of vandalism and attacks on them and their mosques, synagogues, and churches. So maybe there is a low crime rate ther because there is such a small population of athiests who hate anyone of any religious/spiritual belief?

Considering it was a former communist country, it would be a safe bet to say that the "atheists" who live there lived through the communist occupation and are either a) proud atheists or b) scared to say they are NOT atheists. What do you mean that the Church's dominate in Prague? Have things changes so much that the Churches now scare people to go to Church like the communists scared people into not going to Church? You probably meant that there are alot of Churches in Prague. So, here is my opinion: There is a higher percentage of Atheists who live in Prague. The Christians who lived in Prague moved away to other areas, but they may still attend Church in Prague. If you give me the percentage of Atheists who live in Prague, I will bet you that it is either higher or about the same as the national average. I will go even further to say that in areas where the crime is lower, there are more non-atheists or just Theists who live there.

Do you know what the crime rate is in Cuba?
Find THAT out and get back to us.
And then apply for immigration status to Cuba. I wouldn't, though, even if the crime rate is much higher where I live.
Your choice of data is biased. Give the complete picture.
And atheists have the audacity of accusing us Christians of being biased, brain-washed, and ignorant?

I'm sorry, but I do not see the connection!
Maybe someone can enlighten me of the crime rate i former Soviet Union, I guess, since Christianity was illegal, crime was illegal too?
How about North Korea, no Christianity = no crime?
China, Cuba, Iraq, Iran, Italy, Spain...and so on
Dear citizens of the world, instead of trying to fix all the bad things in the world on Christianity, why not try sit down and think it through, read the Bible, seek wisdom, live the Bible and you will discover all the Mercy and Grace, Love and not least Justice that come out of TRUE CHRISTIANITY.
Do not let yourself get mislead by cults that try to "borrow" the title of Christianity....They may sound like Christians, but have a tendency to borrow from the Bible, twist it to their own advantage, and that itself is far from the Word of God.
(Hint, read the last four verses in the Holy Bible)
Seek a Church that proclaims the Word of God, directly from The Word of God, no man can do it better.
Do not let them misguide you to believe you need this or that in order to understand the Bible and live accordingly, but hold the text in the Bible up against the text in the Bible and you will discover consistency of truth upon truth, seek your wisdom in our God given Bible

If the crime right is much lower, it can't be because of the presence of Atheism there. Christians/Muslims/Whatever still outnumber atheists by 20%. :P
The Czech Republic is also not the most ethnically diverse nation in the world.....

Obviously, we should encourage immigration from the Czech Republic -- especially the rural areas.

.. And you don't think any of that has to do with a higher population differences? Let's see.. Czech Republic, population 10,228,744.. United States.. population 301,918,126.. hmmm. I wonder why the crime rate would be higher in the US?
I wasn't talking about Prague, just the Czech Republic in general.
