No, GOD healed the baby. Father George Preca just interceded, like Mary did at the wedding in Cana (John 2:3-5).

Yes one can be healed from a devestating disease as this child was. I was healed of ovarian cancer 12 years ago, the medical community gave me 3 months to live. By the power of God I was healed.

God heals. We can, as Catholics pray and ask saints to intercede for us to God.
We are a communion of saints, living and dead. If a person asks a friend to pray for him or with him, it is the same with a Saint.
