Do you think we are really just souls or spirits in a body? Why do we have emotions? I was reading a book called 'elsewhere' by gabrielle zevin, and the main character goes 'elsewhere after she dies. she lives a life there as a spirit and ages backwards, until she's a baby and gets sent back to earth. d you think places like this exist or do our souls roam earth after death?

According to Great Teacher-Achaarya--Guru Sankara there is ONE and Only Soul in the Universe(Brahmam).Due to he limitations in Human comprehension,it is Illusion (Maaya) that makes the Human to think that the Individual's Soul(Jeeva) and Universal Soul(Parama) are Different.The Jeeva is only a superimposition on Parama(Adyaasa)-This Hindu Philosophy is known as "Adwaitham"-A=not--Dwaitham=Two)-(0% Hindus follow this School of thought.

As to what happens after death - it is possible every guess is correct, as no one knows.
