No, it's just to either mock something they don't understand in the guise of a lame joke, (and they are usually very lame, even hateful) or it's simply because they need the attention. Stupid questions directed at atheists are practically guaranteed to get a lot of responses.

Perhaps,
I am a diest, if I started asking a lot of questions to atheists it would probably be because I honestly wanted there opinion and was curious about there belieifs. On the other hand it could be someone who is angry, confused doubts themself and wishes to mock others because of there own insecurities. It could also be someone so caught up in religion they honestly want to save people from hell, and try to ask questions, to get people to change there minds. Those are my thoughts whether you were asking in seriousness, or just mocking.

No, I don't think so. People who target specific groups on R & S, whether they be atheists, Christians or other spiritual groups, are stuck on themselves in my opinion. They simply want to prove themselves right.

No, it's a sign that they don't want a bunch of answers with cut&paste bible passages.

I wish. In truth, their minds are all screwed up with brainwashing from their religious teachers that they cannot think straight.

I'd take it as a hint, not a sign, that they want answers from atheists...

Well, it must mean they're at least fascinated. Then again, I address a lot of questions to Christians and I sure don't want to be one. Been there, done that, no thanks.

sounds like "they" are interested in exploring alternative viewpoints and looking to get out of their personal one, maybe not exactly wanting to be an athiest.
