Has anyone heard of humans being born with tails? I heard this phenomenon happens when ancestrial traits suddenly reappear after thousands, even millions of years. Do you believe this somehow proves or bolsters the case for evolution? I think this challenges the creationist idea that every living species emerged in its present form

Note: I am an agnostic

Can you prove that God exist, with solid and infallible evidence? I am not against Christians, I respect your belief but I want to know what makes you think that God exist.

I don't mean one-off or rare things like scuba diving or horseback riding either, I mean in day to day life. And reading the bible or going to church does not count!

Is sex evil? Why does it need to wait till marrage? Why is it a sin? And what if you have sex before marrage?

I think so. The whole "controversy' just abruptly came rushing up out of nowhere right after Bush declared victory in Iraq. Since we were obviously going to be there for a much longer time, you could expect an antiwar movement, but just at that very moment,a guy in NYC got a wealthy Jewish couple to bankroll a lavish set of offices,a spankin' new organization to promote gay marriage and - most important - a huge account to hire one of the nation's top P.R. firms which then flooded the media with stories about The Pressing urgency of Gay Marriage Or The Sky Will Fall. Then look what happens. Down come the antiwar banners. Up go the gay marriage banners. Any resistance to the war becomes highly dilute; meanwhile all the people who would normally oppose the war - actively - are running around responding to the media campaign for gay marriage. Sounds like curious timing to me. The guy who got it started was that joe who lost a supreme court case about gay scouts, forget the name. Comments?

let me clear something up before you guys start answering. I know a lot of people draw the assumption that gay people are gay because they choose to be however this just isn't the case. A person does not CHOOSE to be attracted to the same sex and if you think I'm wrong in saying this then ask yourself "did you CHOOSE to be attracted to the opposite sex?" I'm guessing the answer would be "no" because you can't choose which gender your attracted to anymore than you can choose the color of your eyes. Now keeping this in mind I would like to see if anyone can answer my question. Where in the bible does it say homosexuality is wrong (feel free to quote) and, more importantly why is it in there at all. After all since a person is either born gay or not then wouldn't calling homosexuality a sin be condemning someone for being born a certain way. You may as well condemn someone for having brown eyes. you would still be condemning them for something they have no control over.

Please, keep the fighting down. I just want to learn what your perception on "God" is. Keep it a clean fight though. And yes, I am Christian. Please don't be trying to shove your beliefs down everyone else's throat in the process of this.. it just creates larger fights.

...or body language, or physical, verbal & (inferred) mental actions?

Is there a way to know ourselves beyond these?

Is there anything else?

I put this honestly forward to all, and would be interested in the sincere ones.

I'm hoping someone has been 'beyond' and can help us 'see'.

I have a feeling that acquisition of this skill may be beyond the average states of mind.

Am not an expert. :-)

Best Wishes,

A. R.

I sometimes see people talking to their deceased love one at the funeral service. Do you think that a dead person can hear and know what's going on in the world? Can they see,and smell the flowers that family members bring to their gravesite?

What does the Bible say about this?

I've always wondered this, and I'm constantly being tempted by it. Is it wrong for me to engage in such acts. I know many claim to be christian but still drink, I've just always been weary. Can anyone help me with this? And if it is "unchristian", than why?
Is it in any scripture anywhere?

As a gay child...all I knew of gay people was what I heard from the pulpit...that they were the scum of the earth, and that they hung out in dark alleys and molested little boys.

All I saw on the news related to gay people..were pictures of gay pride parades where men were dressed in women's clothing, or leather, and were rather flamboyant and in your face.

As an adult, I have been to the parades...and I know the ones that get on the news are the ones doing sensationalistic acts...but, behind them are thousands of people, who are dressed and acting like everyone else in the world....we are doctors, lawyers, teachers and even preachers. We don't get on the news, because there is no story there.

So, we should not judge all Christians by the act of the extremist religious right...or Fred Phelps/Westboro Baptist Church...likewise, don't judge all gay people based on the actions of a few people in the gay community.

The stereotypes I see the fundamentalists post on this sight

Isn't it considered fornication if two people who aren't married live together? So, in the interest of the souls of thousands of homosexuals, shouldn't we demand that they be granted the right to marry. You know, in the interest of saving their mortal souls?

1. Do you believe in God?
2. Do you believe in the divinity of Jesus?
3. Are you a Christian?
4. Why or why not?
5. What (if anything) turns you off about Christianity or the Christian church (be specific)?
6. Do all roads lead to heaven (Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, etc.)?
7. Last, but not least, what is your idea of hell? Does it exist? If it does, expound on that. If it doesn't, what does God do with those who have caused so much pain to others?

I know these are hot-button questions, but they would really help me a lot for my anthropology course! Thanks so much!
