If you are a JW, please answer these questions...
1. Do you believe Jesus is God?
2. Salvation- is this from Christ and once you are saved, are you saved forever?
3. Have you read any of the gospels/letters from beginning to end?

I had quite an interesting conversation concerning those three topics and I would like to see what other JWs have to say.

One may not believe evolution theory just because but if he says it is "illogical" then one has to stay on the logical path and NOT believe in Adam and Eve. (not the most "logical" explanation about anything)

I read that many cultures before the time of Christianity located in the same region had myths about a crucified savior who was resurrected. Is it possible that the Jesus story is based on those old myths and never actually happened?

I'm not talking about the Bible. I'm talking about actual records from the Roman government. Do they mention Jesus at all?

i personally like catholics, but many things make me question the catholic church
1.) the power of the pope to "enact" doctrine not founded in the bible
2.) the catecism, as opposed to the bible
3.) eating christ at the eucharist - i believe its a symbolic gesture and very disrespectful to "consume" his physical body at mass..........
4.) homosexuality among the priests, is it a widespread problem, i would find it EXTREMELY difficult to trust a catholic priest...................

I just witnessed this moments ago. I was driving home from grocery shopping and saw some gentlemen in a revamped ice cream truck preaching at kids in our neighborhood. As I drove by, I heard one of them (using a microphone) saying to about 30 kids, "Ok kids, say these words after me... dear Lord Jesus, I am a sinner..."
The age range of the children there was 3-7.
So, what say you ? Do you think this kind of proselytizing is appropriate to children of this age? I'm interested to see your responses.

for the sake of argument. the question "if we evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys" is still an invalid argument.

based on the principles of evolution, it makes perfect sense that there would still be monkeys. some of the monkeys simply left the damn jungle (perhaps because of low food supply in their area or something) and went somewhere else where they evolved and adapted to their new environment. the monkeys that stayed behind didn't evolve into humans because they didn't need to because they were already adapted to their environment.

either way, the argument is invalid. so stop asking it already.

Many (especially atheists) claim that the main problem they have with Christians in the U.S. are their attempts to make their beliefs into law, as in the case of the issues of gay marriage and abortion. How would you feel about believers that apply their beliefs to themselves alone and refuse to be mixed up in politics? Do you know of any group that does this?

Will Amerika make the world worship the Christ, the Father and the Holey Casper?

Maybe have a family using artificial insemination etc? We'll go to church regularly and look like any other Christian family and cry "love the sinner hate the sin" in unison with all the rest. but just a little louder.
