It is talking about the Holy Ghost.
The Holy Ghost will reveal all things that God has in store for his people.
With out the Holy Ghost you can not understand God.

In the NIV, with context:
11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
12 We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.
13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.
Verse 12 means that we are not supposed to be secular because we are supposed to be holy. Christians have been given God's holy spirit for that purpose. The holy spirit helps us understand true wisdom from God.

The spirit from God is a spirit of truth and goodness.
That spirit is not of the world.
The "world" is spoken of in Paul's letters as evil (as in largely having a deep ignorance of God and being in sin).

As I see it the writer is saying that the Gifts of God are free and given to us by the Holy Spirit.
The spirit of the world is one of selfish motives. "You want something? Sure but, it'll cost you." "Oh sure I will help you, but what is in it for me?" "Crime watch? I saw the whole thing uh, how much is the reward?"
The writer's statement is "we have," that means God has already given it and the Spirit moves freely helping us understand the words of God and showing us how to live righteous.

that you (a person)can be easily brainwashed and hustled out of your money and turned into a slave by ridiculous verses like this that are meaningless and that since you are so scared of going to hell that you would commit murder against anyone who tries to show you that you are being brainwashed and hustled by child molesting thieves and shisters...
