Gods will is more likely to be a form of social control used by the ecclesiastical leaders and religious clerics. Their will is gods will because they're the chosen ones.

I'll probably offend loads of people but how do we know for sure that the bible was written by the supreme being we call God. Isn't it just remotely possible that human beings who were the rulers at the time, and who's words were thought to be ultimate truth by the uneducated masses due to their struggle for understanding and meaning. God is the perfect way to control those people because who's going to argue with god?

Self consciousness presents us with a problem, and a question 'why are we here'. Before science, the only way to answer that question was to say that we are the product of a supreme force/being that we can't see hear or touch. We have to name that force and we named him God.

In some ways I think God is real, but we are not made in his image, because god is all nature, and nature is everything in the universe so it is all forms and no form at the same time. Therefore Gods will is natures will and that is simply to exist, expand and evolve.

I hate it when people say, "Well!! It was God's will." How do you know it was God's will? Will is defined as "wish or desire" in the Merriam-Websters dictionary. God's wish or desire for man as a whole, if God exists, is written in many different religious books. Some religious books agree on what God's will is and some religious books disagree on what God's will is. Also, among the different denominations of a religion different understanding of God's will can exist.

By really reading, and re-reading the Holy Bible, you can learn what God's will is. Not just reading, but studying each verse as it is related to the rest of the chapter. Don't take any verse out of context, each verse must be taken as part of the whole thought being expressed by the writer as inspired by God.

I would recommend starting with the Gospel of John, followed by all of the letters to the various churches written by the Apostle Paul.

If you have any questions, ask your minister, or elder at a local church. But be sure that the church you visit is teaching the Holy Bible as it was written, and not as they would like for it to be.

Keep in mind that God wants us to learn his will and obey it. He would not hide his meaning so it must be interpreted. He would state it plain. If a verse says to do, or not to do, something, that is what it means. Not what you would want it to mean, or what someone else wants it to mean.

It's found by studying the Bible, God's Word, and by praying, both of which will lead you to a personal relationship with Him. Read Ecclesiastes 12:13, "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear (reverence) God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man."

By knowing His nature. That doesn't mean nature like the outside. It means nature, like his personality. If you have a good understanding of WHO God is, it's easy to know what His will is.
How do you know what His nature is? As a Christian, I can read the bible and find out. It's all in there. Through His own commands and words, stories and songs. Everything you need to know about God's nature is in the bible.

"Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by then renewing your mind so that that you may know what the Good and Perfect Will of God is" Romans 12:2†

'renewing your mind' is "trusting in the Lord with all your heart and not leaning on your own understanding" Proverbs 3:5†

It's seeking the Wisdom of God like silver & gold. Read Proverbs 2:1-11, it explains it better than I can.

"Fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge" Proverbs 1:7†

God's Will, is His Word, it is everything He ever did, He ever said, ever had written and ever spoke, it is every promise and Word of God. It is God's Will sent in His Son, it is in everything that Jesus Christ ever did, ever said, everything He endured, every Word that He spoke, Jesus said "As I hear, I do", Jesus talked often of His Father's Will,if you study these things to know and to see God's Love and all He has done for us in Christ, and all through out the Bible, to "see why" He does what He does, what motivated Him, you will understand God's Will, you will see His Love. Which is not of this world and not man's way/will, man's will and man's ways oppose God's Will and God's ways of doing things.

For example, it is man's will to cover up and try to hide sin, and lie, it is God's Will to turn away evil, to overcome evil with good, to walk in Truth. "Every Scripture is God-breathed" and is for our instruction in righteousness" It is His Will, His Way, His Truth, HIS Words so that by walking in His Words and following Christ's example, and spending time in His Presence and asking Him these things, He will teach us so we can know and learn His Will and follow Him, and not ourselves and our own wills.†

When you follow it, you have no doubt. Everything feels right and just. Good things happen.

When you go against it, things go awry. Karma gets you. You feel guilt and shame and confusion.

Quiet your mind, ask the question and let the clarity come.

If someone tell's you that something is God's will, and you hesitate to agree, then they're probably just trying to control your opinion. Watch out for that (false prophets).

"This is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality." 1Thess 4:3

In fact much of the Bible tells us what God's will is. Like what Jesus said, " this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:39,40
