Basically, I'm just wondering if it's a good read. Will I have to force myself through it, or will it keep my interest?

I know that as a christian I am supposed to love everybody. However there is this person that repeatedly does things that really bother me. The things she does are all different so it is difficult to talk to her and ask her to stop. How do I get over my annoyance and forgive her?

But if I choose a quote and ask for it to be explained all of a sudden the one I choose is simply 'not to be taken literally' as they don't like what they hear! Is this another exercise in propaganda? You simply interpret the bible to suit yourself don't you?

Is it easier to convert somebody from a third-world country? I'm not talking about from one sect to another, I mean from one religion or belief system to another one.

Is it easier? Why or why not?
Is it because the converted get food and maybe shelter or help that they wouldn't normally get?
Is it because they see somebody from a succesful country and assume they are more sophisticated and must therefore be correct in belief?
Is it their ignorance? Can't that go both ways? They never heard about the faith(good things)/they never heard about the faith (bad things)

What do you think?

Dr. Craig has debated such people as Antony Flew, Bart Ehrman and John Dominic Crossan, and holds degrees from Wharton, Trinity Theological Seminary, University of Munich and other institutions.

Prof. Dawkins has refused to debate Dr. Craig, remarking "It wouldn’t look very good on my CV would it?"

What is your spin on Prof. Dawkins' remark, or his reasons for not entering into dialouge with people who disagree with him?

I got this answer from a R/S regular I respect. He makes a good point.

"Science reveals facts based on evidence. If you want to introduce a supernatural deity into the equation go ahead but by doing so you would be ignoring the most basic scientific principle that there must be hard evidence to support your viewpoint. "

Is there hard evidence to support the big bang theory without the presence of a creator?

Now I know there is no hard evidence that exists to support any kind of intelligent design theory either.

Song of Solomon 4

1Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead.

2Thy teeth are like a flock of sheep that are even shorn, which came up from the washing; whereof every one bear twins, and none is barren among them.

It's the same thing in the King James version. She has literal doves' eyes within her hair (locks)? Of course not - she has metaphorical doves' eyes. They are as beautiful as doves eyes. Again the simile with the flock of goats as well. Her hair is not literally as a flock of goats -- it's figuratively as a flock of goats. And a simile uses "like" or "as." Similes are not literal.

Not every verse in the Bible is literal. Certainly not the above, right? Even in the King James version. I'm not saying it's not true. Literal and true are not the same thing at all.

Anyone disagree? If so, explain how the above are literal? (doves/goats, etc.)

Would you go to heaven or hell? If you don't know for CERTAIN where you would go pray this prayer,"Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins. I ask you to come into my heart;wash me with Your blood.I make You my Lord and Savior. Oh God You're now more than my God;You're my heavenly Father and I'm going to serve You with all the daysof my life. Jesus is my Lord. Amen."

I follow it, went to Genesis,Chapter one, verse one and read it, and in my own opinion found it to be blasphemous, what do you think, is it blasphemous?

who is greater! God or human?
For theists the greater is absolutely God.
So why a lots pray and ask saints and prophets (for anything), why they don't ask the greatest, the God.
Do they feel shame to pray to God directly?
even muslims sometimes make their prophet as great as God, or greater.
I don't believe in a God who considers a person better than the other, and I don't accept my parents when they treat my brother/sister as he/she is better than me.
Do you accept that your parents treat like that?
Do you beg your brother to talk to your parents when you need something? if yes, so then there is a problem with the relation between you and your parents.

I got an answer like this :

Just remember science is only man's way of uncovering and understanding God's miracles.

I thought, oh wow, I absolutely agree. As a deist, I believe that God was the big bang.

Where did all the technology that is used today to date and study ancient fossils and prehistoric remains come from? I think it was God that helps all our educators and researchers to find ways to explain the past. God started the evolutionary process, in my opinion. He helped us find ways to accurately date and explain the significance of these discoveries.

Genesis was written by MEN who had no way of knowing what science would later explain. Men who could not have comprehended the term as simple as water displacement.

I was speaking to my jw friend and i suddenly found it they never said they had gotten a vision or that god spoke to them which is how prophets were defined back then. I did hear they made mistakes but then it wasnt based on their reasoning but only on their expectations. I mean that time they made the mistake can be found on the bible meaning the bible did mention that date already but they dint understand it clearly. My friend also showed me examples of how jesus apostles in the bible had to change many things because their expectations were wrong. For exxample they thought the kingdom of the heaven would demonstrate itself in a certain time but then as the holy spirit helped them out it clarified the way to them because even though they had the holy spirit they were still humans and made mistakes. The bible also says the word of god is like a light that gets clearer and clearer so basically the mistake wasnt based on us but on that we dint understand why the bible arrives that date.

Consider the following and please give answers to the numbered questions:

I ask you if you believe in the existence of the Four-Eyed Flying Whip Toad. From Mars. You either laugh or explain that you consider the idea to be proposterous.

1) So far, are you in a neutral position or negative? You are in the opposing position but the burden of proof of the existence of the Flying Whip Toad should technically fall to me, not you to proove me wrong, am I right?

So then, I tell you that The Order of the Four-Eyed Flying Whip Toad from Mars is my religion and you are therefore a Atoadist.

2) Simply by not sharing my beliefs does your religion become 'Atoadist' by default?

What I'm obviously asking is:
3) Why does not accepting other peoples' beliefs seem to automatically set you up with "beliefs" of your own?

Now I know there really is no other explanation for this, It is simply how I was raised. I cannot change it either, when they score a goal I get a feeling inside I cannot describe-sound familiar?! Am I just as bad as a religious person who cannot change? Even though they really know there's no god and it is so obviously made by man they just will not let it go.The feeling they harp on about is not god but a stong belief in something! So am I bad as I cannot get that feeling when Manchester City score a goal and do not think I ever will do!!
