Now I know there really is no other explanation for this, It is simply how I was raised. I cannot change it either, when they score a goal I get a feeling inside I cannot describe-sound familiar?! Am I just as bad as a religious person who cannot change? Even though they really know there's no god and it is so obviously made by man they just will not let it go.The feeling they harp on about is not god but a stong belief in something! So am I bad as I cannot get that feeling when Manchester City score a goal and do not think I ever will do!!

It's just a shame your God is playing in the U.S. now, eh?

No it is not the same. Most religious people know there is a God. People who think there is no God would let it go. Why continue to worship a God you do not believe in? There is a difference between routing for a sports team and believing in a higher power. I am a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, (so I can understand your feeling) but the feelings I get from the Steelers are not the same as those I get from God.
