If an atheist wants to turn their life around but denied God in the past are they damned to hell because of the unforgivable sin blasphemy??

I myself am Christian but I am curious for a friend of mine.

We had a jehovas witness knock on the door earlier and so not to be rude i had a short chat with him on the door step. He was saying that i should go to church etc..., we got in to quite a debate and i said to him if God loves everyone then regardless of whether i go to church or not if i live my life as a good person and do no harm to others then why shouldnt i go to "heaven" if there is one, he said that if i didnt let God into my house then he wont let me into his, i then asked how so called born again rapists, child murderers and generally evil people could get into heaven and i couldnt even though ive basicaly a good girl.
So really how can religous people justify that God loves everyone he clearly doesnt .
I suppose im going to be reported for no reason what so ever but hey.

For example, people are legally entitled to be exempt from rules in companies and schools on the basis of religion. For instance, someone religious is allowed to break the dress code by wearing a burka/crucifix/skullcap, but someone non-religious is not allowed to break it by wearing a wooly hat, long hair, or a purple suit. Doesn't this mean that religious people are given special privileges not granted to everyone else? Isn't this fundamentally unfair and unequal?

I am in favor of abolishing all "freedom of religion" legislation. This freedom is already implicit in freedom of speech, and there is no need for additional exclusive rights. People should be free to practice their religion, but only if the same freedom applies to non-religious people. Religion is no different than a hobby. It's a choice, and it's a personal matter. Wouldn't it be ridiculous if people who have certain hobbies like tennis players were given special rights?

Since many GOD deniers are here, let's have a little excercise like George Bailey had in (It's a Wonderful life) A world without the GOD of the Holy Bible..(Hebrew Scriptures and New Testament)
How many people would live in PEACE with one another?
What kind of Governments would we have in the world?
What would keep people in line? A Police Government? would they give there money to charity? help the poor? if they did not give to charity would they be forced to?

Would people be more tolerant of othe people that were not like them? or again would they be forced to accept things deemed *right* by thier Governments?

Would people naturally have a loving heart? or would they be like the Animal Kingdom who survive by instinct
and apapt to there enviroments?

Since many of us believe the flesh is weak but the spirit is strong in Christ if they did not have the spirit of GOD what would prevent them from becoming just a burden to society?

Yes that would be nice, but I know that will never happen-- some will answer with "Jesus" but many will not. HOWEVER God's word is being revealed and that is what is MOST important!
So here is the question-- Who deserves ALL the glory?

because we believe there isn't a God "based on faith." I call myself an atheist for convenience, but I'm not really claiming there definitely is no God. I just believe that there most likely isn't one. I'm not claiming any absolute truths here. So the question is, do you believe for certain that there definitely is no God, or are you closer to my position. Agnostic seems better fit, but misleading. Thoughts? Is there a better name?...........

I do not believe that she is a murderer, for the fetus was only 13 weeks "old". But she does and this is making her very depressed. She is a christian, but I am not, and she wants a christian perspective on whether she is a murderer. So is she a murderer is the fetus was nonviable and because of the medication she is on would have been seriously malformed? And what should I do to help her see my position?

okay me and my friend had a very heated converation over this and i would liek to find out what you guys would say, now she sayd Pre-marital sex is wrong but i say she is being a hypocrite, she hasn't had sex yet but she had done some other things along a sexual nature. also when she asked me if i believe in Pre-marital sex i said its a personal descion for every person and that neither believe nor dis believe in it, and she said well i don't believe in it then, and is aid no every person has to right i decide to have sex or not, now i'm a devoted catholic but somethings i honestly differ on things from what the bible says, i and well aware of what the bible says about sex but its still a personal choice and no i do not believe you will burn in hell if you have sex. what do you guys think?

The two faiths are very similar.

you both believe that your religion is the 'true' one.
you both believe in a one all powerful deity.
Both religions use a 'holy' book to preach.

It may not seem that way to you but as an outsider of both religions...I can tell you that Christianity and Islam are like 2 apples that fell from the same tree. The two are very alike.

So what's up with all the bashing?
