Sheik Ahmad Bahr, acting Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, declared during a Friday sermon at a Sudan mosque that America and Israel will be annihilated and called upon Allah to kill Jews and Americans "to the very Last One."

Sounds peacefull to me. All peacefull Muslims, please defend your religion, isn't it time for the Islamic Reformation, who has the courage to be the Haji Martin Luther? or does your apathy act as acquiescence

Why do muslims come & live in the west if the hate it here so much? A few days ago a group of muslims were sentenced to life in prison for acts of terrorism here in Britain...all were born & grew up here; all have reapt the benefits of this country & could see how their families had prospered by us allowing them to immigrate here from the Arab world. All of them could have left at any time & returned to the middle east at any time, but didn't...they chose to try & destroy the country that had taken them in & gave them everything. Why? If muslims hate the west so much why dont they just leave?

When ever you ask a Christians today about their faith they always say read the bible and inside is the proof their's is the true religion because of what is contained inside. So before the invention of mass produced books what did Christians use to prove their religion?

Sounds like the old christain way of thinking. Even the Cathoic church allows divorce now. They don't like it, but allow it.

There is a person in my life I love who lives in another country. 12 hour time difference. We hv gone thru a lot of struggle (he isn't ready for a relationship) with periods of extreme silence from his side. I do believe we share a connection though. I had been waiting for his reply to my mail I had written 2 days ago. So this morning right after waking up when I chked my mail (it was his evening there then), and found no reply, my heart sank. For 5 minutes, I fretted, worried about all the reasons why he wasn't replying. My mind went on overdrive and I had an intense desire to try calling his workplace. I was feeling so miserable. When I looked at my inbox again, there it was. His mail written 3 minutes ago. I couldn't believe it. I cried. I thanked God. Was this just a mere coincidence? How would you explain this.

Please - from the heart - how do you reconcile the biblical teaching of God's election of believers with the (apparently) biblical teaching that all unsaved people will suffer conscious eternal punishment in the lake of fire (Hell) ? Does this bother you ?

I am convinced of the validity of the doctrine of election, that it is biblical. I also hold (somewhat tentatively) to the teaching that Hell is a place of conscious eternal suffering. I have a hard time with this, but I have to go with the Bible, not my own feelings.

How do you feel ?

I need to hear that there are people who believe in love, and that love and sex should go together. Sometimes I get the feeling the world is full of sick perverts. Am I the only one who believe that you make love to someone you actually love??

A good friend of mine spent the last month in a coma and is finally home and getting better every day. Thank you Lord! What do you have today to thank God for? Those of you who want to say you aren't thankful for anything....are you breathing today? Can you thank God you are alive and breathing?

Jesus clearly states that demons, and God, are responsible for illness, but it turns out that common viruses are the real culprit, even in illnesses like Leprosy.

If Jesus could be so wrong about something that we take for granted today, why trust anything else he said?

His followers can claim that he healed a leper or two in his day, but the same claims were made of Vespasian, the Roman Emperor (See "The Lives of The Twelve Caesars" by Suetonius) and many others. That hardly compares to the near elimination of the disease by modern medicine.

you removed the title Son of God and the miricales and took the story as a Jewish man from the lineage of King David who attracted alot of attention by talking, had a genuine claim as a decendant of King David, upset the leaders of the Jewish faith by contradicting somethings and was a threat to the stability of the Roman occupied land by being percienved as King David's decendant. Was crucified to shut him up and prevent yet aother jewish uprising and another bloody reprisal by the Romans in a land frequented by Jewish insurgents claiming to be the one prophesised.

In life there are three things...faith, hope and love. Where do you put your faith? No, it doesn't have to be a religion if that is not your path to a spiritual life. I personally would rather put my faith in my God. For those who have suggested that perhaps I should just go to the mythology area for that, forget about it! I have a right to be here. This is an area for open discussion. How can we learn more about others around us if we shut them out. I cannot put my faith in science, because I know that can be affected by the human element just as religion can. But, I don't feel like I take my life in my hands by going into a church. I feel safe putting my life in God's hands. Doctors, on the otherhand, I am not so sure about. But, I do think that there have been some amazing accomplishments in science. I just choose to think that they are not random acts.
But, what do YOU put your faith in? Please, no rude comments to anyone or about anyone. Can we try an open discussion?
