I'm a Baptist and I love to dance. In fact I started taking dance classes when I was 4 years old. Some people just go a little over board with there interpretation of what there religion stands for. I wouldn't worry all that much about it. You have to remember that there are people in this world that may get offended if the wind changed direction. Just be yourself, as long as you didn't cuss at her or try to drive your beliefs down her throat, you did nothing wrong.
There are not that many happy people in the world today- so dance girl dance

I think you know and understand that most Baptists and Christians in general are not against dancing as it is described in the Bible. So I don't take your question seriously. In a place of work it may not always be appreciated, regardless of religion. If you dance without the others being in the same mood of feelings they will not understand the dance and think it looks stupid. I once heard Herbert Blomstedt, the famous conductor, tell what happened once when he was rehearsing with the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra. They looked at a previous performance on video, but the sound did'nt work and when he saw himself moving the conductor's baton with all the graceful movements a conductor makes, he suddenly noticed how stupid it all looks when the music is not heard. The same with dancing, if the others are not in the same mood. It looks stupid, so you should think before you dance at a place of work. It may look stupid, if the others are Baptists, communists or whatever.
The dancing some Christians may be against is when a woman and man are dancing very close to each other, perhaps with someones others wife or husband. Some maybe against that because it will arouse feelings that the Bible says should stay between husband and wife.

It depends on the type of dancing. Dancing can be very erotic. When I dance w/ my husband it always leads to sex. This is good because we are married!! For an unmarried couple, it would be very tempting and make it difficult to stay pure in thoughts and actions.
However, I do not think there was anything wrong with your happy dance. That is kind of like David dancing for joy when the Ark of the Covenant was returned to Israel.
There's nothing wrong with aerobics or dancing without a partner (as long as it isn't dirty dancing).

I have no idea.....been trying to figure that one out myself. (It's not just Baptists, btw - but they seem to be the worst about it.) Sounds like you had a little "praise dance" going on, and Psalm 149 specifically states to praise the Lord with dancing!! Jesus attended many functions where dancing took place (weddings, passover celebrations, etc) and I can't find one scripture that says He chastised the people for it! David danced before the ark of the covenant as it was paraded in to town and God didn't have a problem with it. There are at least four scriptures in the bible that ENCOURAGE the kind of dancing you're talking about, but I can't find ANY that say it's a sin!

Some people are prudish no matter what. There are some dances that are provocative and sensual. But yours was not. Even David danced before God.
Could it been something else that was bothering her? Like maybe you were too loud and she couldn't talk to her comstomer on the phone because of your loudness.
Try to be peaceful with her. If not, it will be hard for everyone in the office especially your supervisor. Peace.

The Southern Baptists are no longer approximately to overhaul the rustic, yet probably the Muslims will in the subsequent 10 years or 15. they have confident plans to take action and have made great strides. Be praying!!! they seem to be a male ruled faith and that they call for obedience in the different case loss of existence.

I doubt there is any rule/regulation at your job that prevents dancing. People were meant to dance, it's not a sin, although many christian religions think it's right out. I'm christian I dance, more importantly Jesus danced! So dance all you want and let your co-worker be a lame person.

I am Apostolic, and we do not go to dances, but that is because dance is part of worship, psalms refers to it many times, we have dance in our church as part of praise and worship.
Psa 149:3 Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
Psa 150:4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
Ecc 3:4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

Darling take a look at these scriptures please
Exodus 15:20-21
And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with DANCES. And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
Judges 11:34
And Jephthah came to Mizpeh unto his house, and, behold, his daughter came out to meet him with timbrels and with DANCES.
2 Samuel 6:14
And David DANCED before the LORD with all his might.
Psalm 30:10-12
Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper. Thou hast turned for me my mourning into DANCING: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent.
Psalm 149:3
Let them praise his name in the DANCE.
Psalm 150:4
Praise him with the timbrel and DANCE.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-4
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to DANCE;
Luke 15:22-25
But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry. Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and DANCING.
So go out and move those feet the Lord gave you honey! Be joyful and be WARY of those that turn being a Christian into a joyless CHORE. It's the Christians who DON'T dance you have to worry about.

Because some people get all bent out of shape over petty things and don't know how to relax or mind their own business. My boss acts the same way as your co-worker and blows the smallest things out of proportion...and she's not even religious.
