WOW! That is gonna be awesome!!!! Just to stand there face to face with Jesus, and have Him, the King of ALL Kings, the Lord of lords, HIS MAJESTY, embrace you and say "well done"!!!! Just to see Him seated at the right hand of God in all of His Glory is gonna shake some things. Im so glad that I made the decision to get my life right, im glad i made the decision to turn ME over to God and let HIM reign in my life. im so glad that He saved me and filled me with the holy ghost!!!!

I want to start over again and this time I am going to do It right. please help me people. your help Is appreciated!

Science clearly states that once a species evolves from another, the species being evolved from goes extict. Obviously there are many apes around still. Look at dinosaurs. Science recently discovered chickens evolved from dinosaurs and there are no dinosaurs. Whales evolved from land animals millions of years ago, and those land animals no longer exist. This is proof God created humans. There is nothing to contradict this.

If there are people who have read any of his books and can...with evidence (besides the Bible because that is not evidence) prove that he is wrong...then do so here...simply quoting scripture is clearly not evidence. I am NOT mocking religion here. I sincerely want to know...

The God Delusion makes some really great points, that in my opinion are irrefutable. He makes great sense and can answer questions clearly and concise, unlike my priest are the many others that I have questioned.

I am asking for all religious people to prove your point with logic not blind faith...I am asking for evidence. If you cannot provide any...maybe you should find the answer and come back and answer it then. I do not want to hear religious ramblings...I know the bible, I am a confirmed catholic...please do not preach to me...for I have been preached at enough..I want clear cut answers...if you cannot provide them with evidence.

I am going through the roughest most alone time I have ever gone through and literally have nobody. I have a father-in-law (of soon to be exhusband) and I have someone to get some advice from but only from a distance. No friends, no parents, extended family or siblings. Not even childhood friends. I have gone to sunday school as a small child and weekly services but our family stopped when I was 8. When I was a teenager I went to youth group for a few months and also sunday service. I have never "Believed" in religion nor have I seen it to be anything more than a crutch for people who can't exist w/o knowing an indefinate fate or how we got here. Others have told me I should turn to God, but I don't think I can and I don't know how it would help. The whole concept of religion seems to be "made up" and a false sense of not being alone. I want something to help me get through this but how can I turn to religion/God? I'm almost willing but just can't see a point.

Yes, part three of my "atheists as communists" series...seeing as it's my last question for the day I thought I may as well make it a virtually unanswerable one!

Jayelle asked a question last night, and it inspired my question here. Out of fairness to her, let me post the link to her question :

I went to a drum circle/memorial service in Balboa Park (San Diego) the night Jerry Garcia died. It was incredibly moving, and one of the most spiritual experiences of my life.

I wasn't a Deadhead, but most of my friends were. They drew me into the entire experience of being a fan, and I actually felt the loss. I hugged people that night that I'd never met, and knew that I would never see again after that night.

The sense of community, as well as unity, that I felt that night hasn't been paralleled since.

I realize not every atheist is spiritual, but I'd be interested in those who wouldn't mind sharing.

as re-incarnation, infinite acceptance by God, spiritual guides, infinite potential and divinity of humanity, perfection of humanity etc.

I can understand your not accepting these ideas, but why do you react with so much vehnom. The more archeological evidence and sacred documents that is discovered, the more we see that this was the beliefs of the early Christian church.

Do you need your fear to keep you from acting on dark thoughts you harbor inside you?

This question is real and not posed to insult you. I want to understand what is inside your mind. Thanks

Or if it's just the Holy spirit?

-They both make you talk in tongues.
-They both make you flail around like an idiot.
-One is more popular then the other though :)

And when someone says they hear voices telling them weird things, like were their car keys are its always said to be a demon.
But when it's someone that the church has great respect for (like my uncle who is a preacher) then it's always the Holy spirit talking to him.

How can we be sure that it's the Holy spirit and not just a demon trying to trick us???

I am quite happy with the concept of an ultimate creative force (primus mobilis) that created the universe, but I'm not convinced that "God loves us". Christianity says "he gave his only son" - many people have given up their lives and their families for a cause, but this isn't generally a reason for deification. Given the harsh realities and unfairness of this life (not necessarily my own) what reasons do the faithful have for believing that a benign God loves us, over any other creatures?
