Considering that 1 Corinthians 13 and 14 indicated that the gift of speaking in tongues (which was only necessary while Christianity was a newborn rapidly expanding religion) would eventually be done away with, I'd say there's a 99.9% chance of demon possession.
Speaking in tongues served the purpose of delivering the good news to people of different languages back during a time when mass communication (and other such luxuries provided by modern technology) were unavailable. Now that we have a complete Bible and the means to translate it into nearly every existing language, we no longer need the gift of speaking in tongues.
Oh yeah, and the Bible makes no mention of the Holy Spirit making anyone 'flail around like an idiot', that's something demonic possession holds as a sole trademark. Of course, you'd have a hard time convincing some people otherwise...

Because a demon will not tell you things like where the keys are, they give you bad thoughts and ideas to do to bad things. If your wife is late, they'll put ideas in your mind that she's with someone else, or that she really doesn't care about you, to try to stir up a fight between you or get to you do things you know in your heart are wrong. When the Holy Spirit speaks, there is no deceit or tricks, only the truth, and to urge you to do what you know you should do, because it is right.
If you ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart, there cannot BE a demon where He lives. And He will send the Holy Spirit to teach you and to comfort you. Unless you have received Jesus Christ as your own personal savior then those voices are demons, the Spirit of Jesus Christ is Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit has never cause me to flail around like an idiot. I have been possessed before. From the time I was a 9 year old, until I became saved when I was 24. There is a difference. Demonic possession will not give you peace. They use you to reside as a destructive force.
God's Spirit brings life and knowledge, and as you respond in trust, you continue to be buildt up, rather than being destroyed.
So there is the difference, if you want it first hand.

For one the Holy Spirit does not do the following...
-They both make you talk in tongues.
-They both make you flail around like an idiot.
There is no evidance of this within God's Word except for the misguided Corinthian church who was choosing to do things in their own way.
When the Holy Spirit visited those in Pentecost he gave them power to speak in tongues of the other people that were present. Languages that were previously unknown to them. And certainly Paul nor any of his group were flailing around like idiots when the tongues of fire came upon them.
Cheers

You're giving demons way too much credit here. Didn't you know the Holy Ghost has a very twisted sense of humor? One time he possessed my mother-in-law and then I kept hearing whispering in my ear to just shoot her and get it over with (that was also the Holy Spirit). I complied and he's still laughing at my prison sentence. Oh, that Holy Spirit! I tell ya!

It's a demon, or a psychosis.
I can't answer this right now. I'm just too tired. Email me if you want.
Demons are the ones who mess with humans. The Holy Spirit is not really perceptible.
Is your uncle up to any funny business? I bet he is.

If you are diagnosed by a doctor with epilepsy and then go to any spirit filled church you will be accused of being demon possessed.
I have seen it happen and have rarely felt as bad, or ashamed of Christians like that since.

If you are religious, then you can sometimes tell by the answer given to you by your fellow religites. They may have differing opinions though, as even they are not sure when god is speaking to them and when it is themselves.
If you are non-religious, then you should never hear voices. It is a sign of the need for mental or medical professional intervention.
