Ok here's my problem.. Looking for suggestions.. I don't believe in Jesus, but I DO believe there is a God.. I have never really belonged to a church, except Christian, but have always walked away because they say "Jesus is God". That's not my personal take on it.. But I want my family (children to belong to a church). To have the best start on life I can offer them. All the Church's I can just go to, walk in other words, are of course Christan. Judaism takes a very long time to join.. Some of the other require handing out paperwork (tracks). I'm not sure what church I can go to that believes what we believe yet have the amenities that Christan Church's have.. Any suggestion??

Lets just say that you are wrong and Christians are right. Are you worried about going to hell? (This is if Christians are right and there is a hell.)

Should you believe just in case?

i ask because this seems to be the case due to the amount of thumbs down and lack of thumbs up that christian answers get.

if so, why do you think that is?

I am highly skeptical about most everything considered supernatural. I do not believe in gods, ghosts, or aliens.

I recently experienced something that caused me to wonder quite a bit. A new worker at my office befriended me quickly, and there seems to be a mysterious and unexplainable connection between us.

It caught my attention when I could not sleep one night because this person kept popping into my mind. The next day I found out she had been attacked that night at the same time I had these thoughts. Since then I have paid closer attention and noticed a few more things. I started experiencing vertigo after I met her. She started having the same thing but didn't know what it was. We also have a very similar thought process which puzzles me because I'm quite an oddball.

I spoke to her about all of these things and she mentioned the possibility of Twin Souls. I researched it because I was ignorant. Most of it seemed hokey but a few parts made sense.

Any ideas what it is?

Why is the pope called "Our Lord God the Pope?"

Also: "Holy Father" and "God?"

Isn't this Blasphemy? And, don't say that he isn't called this, because he is called such in the Roman Canon Law, also called so by Father A. Pereira, and also by Pope Nicholas I.

It isn't denied by either the Pope or the Catholic Church itself, and is disturbing to say the least.

BTW: "Holy Father" is used only ONCE in the ENTIRE BIBLE, and that is in John 17:11 when Jesus was praying to God the Father and He said:
"And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are."

Don't you think this is blasphemous? How can you reconcile this?

If a man leaps into the air, he could have a desire to remain aloft ...he could wish to remain aloft ...he could have faith to remain aloft ...and he could hope to remain aloft... yet none of these, not desire nor wish nor faith nor hope will ever keep him aloft.

Why not?
