Another exam essay questions,
Heres the question:
Write an essay discussing the positive features you can find in the Raelians and indicate why so many are critical of them.

I have an idea of what the my answer will be for this question but i wanted to see if others had different opinions on the subject or what people thought of them :)

I am soon going into a PhD program and have always had Christian beliefs. However, as I get more into college, I find myself questioning my beliefs more and more often. I guess I have felt really down, thinking that there just might not be anything out there but space. I was wondering how scientists and other well educated people maintain their faith under such conflicting teachings.

If you don't believe in Religion then why are you in the religion/spirituality section? Just to try and talk down the ones who do believe? Or are you really trying to prove a point?

Hi. I was just wondering, if any folks can help me - I believe the antichrist is coming soon - will he and the evil demons and humans who will do his bidding succeed in exterminating EVERY true Christian? Will I live to see the Second Coming or will I perish at the hands of this enemy of the Church?

My daddy was a very gentle man. He never laid an unkind hand on my mother. Did not use profanity. Very soft spoken. We preferred him to whip or spank us when we were children than our mother.
But if one of his children was abused in any way, he wouldn't want money. He would handle it quite well outside of court with his fist. He could care less if they were a member of the clergy.
I would imagine a lot of the fathers of these victims would do the same thing to someone who molested their children but when they have a chance of getting their hands on money, that becomes more important.
Someone asked me suppose the child doesn't have a father. I said, if I was the mother, I could land a foot in a very sensitive location.

Every time I read something written by a religiously active person, every 3rd word is capitalized.

Example: God is Real, and God never Lies. If God Lied, the World would Cease to Exist. (Taken from an actual Yahoo! Answers answer)

Perhaps religious studies have limited their ability to use proper English? Or is everything personified in the bible? I could say this chair is holy. Does this now mean that everyone has to write it as Chair? In Greek mythology, the word god is used many times without capitalization. Surely, the protagonist of the bible's name is not his profession.
Of course, this question will ensure flaming. Have fun.

why do we call devout christians/catholics god fearing. i thought god made them happy etc so why do they fear him?

I wrote this question eariler and i was told that i was being to broad about paganism. I'm aware that Paganism is an umbrella term, like Christianity, but I just need a general overview. I especially need help on Taoism so far I haven't come up with a thing. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your answers!

What does it mean, to you?

Textbook answers are not necessary.

Am interested in how it's interpreted in the many facets of life.

Cross-disciplinarily, broadly, universally... even personally. :-)

I'm 34 now and life is getting on. My parents want rid of me and I have no money to live anywhere else. I cant work cause I have nervous disability and to be honest I am too scared to live alone. Maybe I should just join the monastery in France and accept I dont realy fit into this life. Its such a dificult decision. No sarcasm please be nice.

Why does he create tsunamis and cyclones that kill people? That has NOTHING to do with men so why?If you believe in scientific research into weather then you must believe the scientists who have explained a lot about the age of the planet and evolution etc...or, like the bible, do you just pick out the bits you want to believe in?

She says spirit possession is fake, however I dont believe that, I think in some cases it can be real, rarer cases then seeing ghosts but I still dont think its bull, Do you really think Silvia Brown is real or is it all staged? I notice she never ever has anything bad to say about anyone, and she just seems so vague in her readings sometimes. Think she's Ligit?

I stared at waking and at retiring to read a little bit of the Bible that I kept by my bed and talking to god about what I read and prayed. I would pray for World,community,family and personal situations and needs. I carried a little New Testanent with Psalms around with me in my back pocket and would pull it out at beginning of lunchbreak at work to pray for a minute or two-and then on the train to work. I would talk to god in my head or meditate on nature or buildings or people walking around when I would be walking alone .

Because they are always saying stupid pseudo-scientific things like "I can conceptualise god...therefore god exists." I don't think they should be allowed to play with our tools if they are going to abuse them.

hollywood makes so many scary movies and movies filled with violence and sex. texas chainsaw etc.yet they say the passion of Christ was too bloody.i think christians should not suport such these movies what do u think?

Less than 1% of Catholic clergy has been involved in sex abuse. It goes on in public schools also but since public schools are taxpayer supported in some states they cannot be sued and if they can be sued there is a cap on the award. I read where one state had a $150,000 cap on any award in lawsuits against a public school.

If he was too busy honoring his parents (upto the age of 30) to save hundreds if not thousands of “lost souls” from going to hellfire than we better reconsider the urgency of the Christian message.

It looks as though Jesus was actually a Prophet.... nothing more and nothing less.
