Every time I read something written by a religiously active person, every 3rd word is capitalized.
Example: God is Real, and God never Lies. If God Lied, the World would Cease to Exist. (Taken from an actual Yahoo! Answers answer)
Perhaps religious studies have limited their ability to use proper English? Or is everything personified in the bible? I could say this chair is holy. Does this now mean that everyone has to write it as Chair? In Greek mythology, the word god is used many times without capitalization. Surely, the protagonist of the bible's name is not his profession.
Of course, this question will ensure flaming. Have fun.

Some people may not know better.
Some people use capital letters for emphasis. I have been known to capitalize a whole word for EMPHASIS. This is how written English works.
I am more concerned by people who know better and do not capitalize anything out of disrespect or laziness.
With love in Christ.

Emphasis, perhaps. Yet we have to capitalize the name of God, Like Wonderful, Counsellor, Father, etc. I find that when I'm trying to type fast and come to a section I wish to speak of God, I tend to start capitalizing every noun in the sentence! Wierd habit, I guess. Also I always capitalize "The Bible" and "The Word" because they are Holy to me and "The Word" is also a name for Jesus.

Because Catholicism was created to convert Pagans and captialized things to make their religion seem puny compared to that of the Catholics. Really there are no capital letters in Hebrew or Aramaic, the language in which Jesus taught, so pretty much all of those captials should be ignored.

this question continually amuses the hell out of me. till Henry VIII (Anglican) and Martin Luther (Lutheran, then some 30,000 different sects, and counting) got here alongside, the Orthodox and Catholic church homes have been the Christians. there have been no others. Catholics = Christians for 2000 years. Protestants = Christians for about 500 years. And the only distinction between the Catholic (unique) bible and the protestant bible(s) of their distinctive translations is that Martin Luther threw out lots of the books the catholics had desperate to be the "inspired be attentive to God" back interior the Council of Nicea interior the 4th century. All protestant bibles are derived from this unique source. i'm not even going to touch the "what catholics do isn't interior the bible" one. The Trinity isn't interior the bible. "unique Sin" isn't interior the bible, that replaced into invented by utilising Augustine (a catholic theologian) interior the 4th-5th century. The Rapture isn't interior the bible. The bible needless to say states Jesus is the "son" of "god" in some places, it incredibly is declared that the bible additionally says Jesus IS "god" someplace else and the protestants are nevertheless combating over that. that is not a protection of the catholics, by utilising the way. i'm agnostic, i think of all you adult men are combating over distinctive made-up stuff devoid of information. yet, in case you will combat among yourselves, please a minimum of attempt to get your historic information immediately and your dogmas properly pointed out as to source. in any different case, you basically make yourselves look ridiculous. advantages on your journey!

I capitalize the name of my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost to indicate my love and respect. I seldom use the word god because this indicates other deities.

The grammatically correct way to show emphasis is by using italics. There are no italics here. By necessity, users under-use italics and compensate for it, adapt to it.

Do you mean Catholics and Protestants?
