Instead of trying to convince the religious types that religion is false, and vainly trying to point out that Atheism is not a religion, evolution is not a religion, why not just acknowledge that they cannot comprehend it?

Something in their nature or intellect or education prevents them from understanding in those terms.

Why not spin in into something they can relate to? They want prophets? Give them George Carlin, Lenny Bruce and Lewis Black. They want spectacles and men on stages telling them what to think and how to act? Give it to them. The Romans understood this, and never hesitated to give the people a show, a God or a religion to keep them pacified.

Atheos, the Atheist God? Could be the ticket.

what ever your beliefs might be, would you marry someone has strongs belief only in magic and spiritism as her principal faith? wouldn't that bother you if you have a conventional belief, and the other person is practicing high level mystical kind of things calling the dead souls, praying the spirits, cast spells ..etc ..etc ...would you be comfortable with that , whatever you are , muslim, christians, jewish ..etc ..etc ?

Over the years, I must have seen thousands of paintings, sculptures, depictions of God, Jesus, saints, Biblical characters. I don't ever recall seeing anyone smiling or laughing. Since joy and humor are so integral to being human, I wonder why.

I do, of course, realize gloominess isn't limited to Xtianity (I love Bodhidharma's ill-temperedness!), just that it's the religion in which I've seen most works of art.

Can one of you Proddy's tell me what John 6 means, without unleashing you anti-Universal Venom?

John 53 -58 Confirms the doctrine of the Eucharist.
Apparently, there is some confusion about Jesus's Church, the Eucharist is the foundation of the Catholic religion. So in otherwords Christ foundation our Church since we Catholics follow his word, we read the books that he read and implure his Holy Ghost to inspire us with the words of pure theological and philosophical doctrine . Nothing in the Catholic Church is against Christs Words

Theists if scientists were able to pove 100% that God wasn't real would you believe it?

Atheists if scientists were able to prove 100% that God was real would you believe it?

Right now almost nothing is 100% sure in the scientific world, not even gravity, so it only happens when they are completely right.

Please, if you're not an American, don't answer!!! I'm only interested in American opinions on this subject. Really.

In 1989, the Romanian dictator Ceaucescu was killed during a revolution. As we all know, Romania is still struggling with the newly found freedom. Freedom is a weird thing, when you've never been used to it.

So, Americans, can you please tell me how it feels to be a Romanian? How does a now 70 year old Romanian handle a life of oppression and only the last 18 years of this newly found freedom?

Oh, by the way, I just read a question that said literally:
"Christians, is homosexuality a choice?".
Do you think that question is just as silly as the one I am asking now?

Saint Kabir says: "bura jo dekhan main chala, bura naa milya koi...jo man apna khojaya to mujhse bura naa koi" it means "I tried to look out for the bad but found none; when I searched my own heart I realised that I am the worst of all" how do you understand this? have you ever felt so? if yes when?
