Much of the silliest stuff in the bible comes from the old testament. Like stoning your children. Women marrying their rapists. Ya know, all that good stuff. When put on the spot, the typical apologist christian says,
"These rules made sense in the time they were drawn up. They don't all apply anymore."

So what about the Ten Commandments? They all come from the Old Testament. Shouldn't we dump those silly old rules too?

I say we keep the Ten Commandments but also bring back stoning your children.

I asked this before, but no one of the 18 answerers understood the question. I would like to know what creationists think about biologists' belief in the theory of evolution.

Why, in your mind, do the vast majority of biologists believe evolution is the best explanation for the different species we have today?

I know evolution is only a theory.
I know that many creationists are fundamentalist Christians.
I know that not all creationists are fundamentalist Christians.
I know that not all fundamentalist Christians are creationists.

I don't want to read "Creationists are stupid".
I don't want to read "Christians are stupid".
I don't want to read "Evolution is wrong".
I don't want to read verses from Genesis.
I don't want to read about the tiny minority of biologists who are also creationists.

I just want to know - to what do you attribute the fact that most (not all) zoologists, botanists and other biologists are firm believers in the theory of evolution?

Hate to ask this but why do so many people state that most wars are religious in nature in either their questions or answers? Is our education system so bad or are they just interpeting the facts the wrong way?

The only real religious war that I can think of, outside of the Bible is the short lived "People's Crusade" which was an unintentional by product of the intended Crusade. Well, that an perhaps a few of the Ji'hads, but not sure on those.

I'm referring to the ones where people actually see and hear words and actions that are taking place in the near vicinity while they seem to be outside of their body and 'dead'. I have asked my 8th graders the same question and of the 21 students in my class I have received the following answers:

7 students said Moshe Ravinu
5 students said Rabbi Akiva
3 students said Abraham Avinu
2 students said Sara
1 student said Rashi
1 student said Esther
1 student said Mariam
1 student said Lyubavichi Rabbi (what was shocking to me was the fact that Reconstructionist Jew has chosen the Rav)

So far I do not know why they chose those answers, but I know one thing my Sunday will sure be busy grading these essays.

I just want to know if you agree with their choices.
