Nope. Its just an expression and it means nothing to those that don't believe in it. See, where taking the lords name in vain is something Christians aren't allowed to do, Atheists don't give a damn.

I just say oh my- I do it with a southern accent- there was a joke attached to it somewhere along the line but I've long since forgotten it but the oh my stuck. I do say god- usually in the grown up form of gosh darnit and I say jesus Usually followed by a whole string of explatives- I'm not trying to be rude it's just kind of ingrained

I am not trying to offend anyone but that is one of the funniest things I have heard in a long time!!! Thank you for that laugh. And to answer the question all of the athiests that I have known still said "Oh, my god!"

I'd think atheists would be more likely to say "oh my God" since they don't have to worry about breaking the commandment on Taking the Lord's Name In Vain.

I think they still say OMG but it's probably only in the bedroom from what I've heard. I think the bedpost is their God maybe.
Unfortunately my sister doesn't believe in God either and she told me this..... LOL She always makes me laugh.
Not worried as she was saved as a child and then decided later she didn't believe due to her daughter having down syndrome. Sadly she said no God would do that... the child is fantastic though.... what a BLESSING.

Though they say they are " athiests " they still believe there IS something there or there would be UTTER destruction in USA now.
