Yes, Jesus is who he says he is. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Ah. But are you sure he even said he was the messiah. In the gospels, except John which there is a clear theological theme and was the latest written of the four, Jesus never really answers that questions. When people ask, "Are you the son of man?" Jesus always says, "You say that I am." It is very ambiguous as to how Jesus viewed himself. When Peter confronts Jesus and says "You are the Messiah" Jesus says tell no one this. Why? Why say this if he knows himself to be the messiah.

One possible explanation could be that Jesus did not want his disciples confused as to why He was there. You see, the Jewish idea of a messiah would have been someone like King David. One to come and fight for them. It's possible Jesus did not want to be identified as a military leader.

As to your more theological question. After reading what Jesus said and how he treated people, do you think if someone were to model their life around His, that person would be happy. Jesus said that the heart of what he taught was to love your God with all your heart and to love your neighbour. With that kind of love flowing out of someone, do you think they would be happy. If your answer is yes, then haven't they been saved from death, pain. Is Jesus the Son of God? He said God was in us all, the Kingdom of God was in us all. It doesn't seem too far fetched to say yes, he is a Savior, he is the Son of God. Clearly this is a personal matter of faith and cannot be answered here.

one question for you guys........(and I'm really not trying to make anybody mad - though i know i will...oh well....) does it really matter? here's what i mean:

Suppose he was NOT the son of God......

you could look at this a couple of different ways.

Cynical - Christianity has sure come a long way for a religion that was based on a fraud!

Not so cynical - Maybe (just maybe) that was not the point. (like the difference between being submerged or sprinkled - which i have always found to be a ridiculous argument). Perhaps the message was the key - Self-sacrifice, love, brotherhood, reaching out to your enemies, taking care of society's unwanted - all of these things which lead to Salvation of the soul. in the end (considering it was 2000 years ago, and like JFK's assassination, we'll never know the truth...........) the message is what is important - love thy neighbor and most overlooked in my opinion YES-you ARE your brother's keeper. So quit squabbling over literal translations and different versions and start using some common sense - what WAS Jesus about? What was his point? What was he asking me to do? and even if you don't think he was literally the Son of God - does that make what he was saying invalid?

He's all of the above. He's the king and the son of god. More like the flesh of god as stated in the bible. Some people pray to Jesus some pray to god. I think there is a difference in god and Jesus. I believe he sits on the right side of god and is the everlasting king of heaven and is flesh of god that lived on this earth. Pick up a bible and read the new testament it's all there.

yes, i truly do believe that he is the son of man, son of god, the true messiah, the sacrificial lamb, my redeemer, my savior, my Lord, my God! our calendar system is set on before christ, and after Christ...........what made man decide to do that, if Christ wasn't an extraordinary being???? what about celebrating Christmas? There have been tons of amazing human beings on the earth, but, we haven't celebrated their birthdays for centuries? once you accept the Lord, you begin to experience super extraordinary encounters with Him that convince you without a doubt that He is for REAL!!! and why would you want to take chances anyway by not believing?????

On Jesus:

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; 16 because by means of him all [other] things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, no matter whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All [other] things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all [other] things and by means of him all [other] things were made to exist, 18 and he is the head of the body, the congregation. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that he might become the one who is first in all things; 19 because [God] saw good for all fullness to dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile again to himself all [other] things by making peace through the blood [he shed] on the torture stake, no matter whether they are the things upon the earth or the things in the heavens.

Jesus, when he walked the earth 2,000 yrs ago... was both Fully God and fully man... he was the son of Mary... caused to be concieved in Mary by the command of God... by the understanding of man that makes him also The Son of God.

Jesus is The Creator of the Universe....He is The Word of God.... and, much, much, MORE

Jesus is God

Those who lean unto there own understanding of scripture are leading others astray and blinded by their "pride!" But this has to occur for the Kingdom of God is coming to this earth and establish His way as the only way.

Pride is man's downfall. The End of the circle of man's self rule will be the beginning of Christ's Kingdom but that "pride" must be broken first!

I think he was a great man, but he said he'd be back in that generation when he spoke in Matthew, and he never returned.

"...This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled."

It's interesting that John didn't know if he was the messiah. He had his disciples ask, "are you the one who is to come, or do we wait for another?"

It's also interesting that Paul wrote so much about him, but never met him. And, that it was 300-400 years after his death that it was ruled that he was divine.
