Fear, pride, guilt. Just about the same reasons that many don't attend church in the first place.

Sometimes we have to take it to them. Share our knowledge with them. Maybe spark their interest in something we are doing at church and then have them ask questions.

Many people assume this is the best way to understand a particular religion. The "take a Buddhist to lunch" tactic is not very helpful and can actually be harmful if what you are looking for is answers about a religion as a whole, they are spokesman for their own particular faith. The problem is that individual churches, monasteries, and/or practitioners are not qualified spokesman for their religion. It doesn't make much sense to go to a Methodist church and draw conclusions about the Christianity from this one perspective. The same follows if you were to talk to a Pure Land Buddhist. That doesn't tell you a whole lot about Zen Buddhism or Theravada Buddhism.

The answer is hitting the books and visit several, many, many churches or monasteries or individual practitioners before thinking you have a grasp on a particular religion. Religions are not "simply" understood by any ones measure.

For the same reason that you don't go to a Christian Website to research whether or not Carbon Dating is accurate. They have a stake in the answer and are going to be biased, if not misleading.

Edit : Y! isn't biased. We have people of all faiths answering here. You get many different viewpoints when you ask a question here. Not just the "church approved" propoganda.

How can you actualyl do that and when would u even know how to do that?

For instance I would go with a friend who has been to and has knowledge of buddhist temples and find out when to go and WHEN you can ask. Most of the time a church or temple is rather quiet with people meditating or praying you cant simply walk in and start asking questions.

I prefer to read up on the subject and then find a friend who knows that particular church/religion first before doing anything else just to be respectful.

Ive never been to a jewish temple or synagogue at all that should be interesting..i need to find someone who has been in one.

But it wont hurt to ask people on Yahoo answers in addition to your reading about the religion or churches/temples..it shouldnt hurt.

My religious route (no longer fairly a faith) is Luciferianism, type of a blend between Mysticism, Thelema, and Luciferianism fairly. There aren't any creeds, dogma, or procedures of believing. Luciferianism is a really individualistic route and there are in simple terms some people, so there is not any set beliefs. it really is in simple terms and enlightenment looking for route. there are various a lot less people than there seem, because maximum who call themselves "Luciferianism" are definitely uneducated Theistic Satanists. My beliefs do evolve, yet no longer fairly change. There are little issues right here and there. transforming into and increasing is between the biggest problems with my beliefs even if. I nonetheless have emotional drain. unlike many others, my route isn't a drug that facilitates me experience satisfied, loved, and strong each of the time. Anger is taken into consideration necessary. Hate is different than anger, yet anger can benefit lots. it ought to flow mountains. No revolutions are adjustments have occured with out anger in touch. i doesn't opt to get rid of it. As for concern, it isn't tied to my beliefs in any respect. wakeful contact from god ought to anticipate that god exists and is become independent from us and the universe. i believe this to be pretend. What we call god is in simple terms the most suitable divine truth of each thing, and under no circumstances a personal, loving, author.

why dont people just go to church and find out? well Satan has made sure that wont happen. he puts it in the minds of men to doubt the word of god from the very beginning the devil told a lie. he said eating forbidden fruit would not go against gods wishes he cause a lot of pain in this world. and hes still at it today. unless you have true religion you have the mark of the beast on you right now and that mark is? its your personality its the lifestyle that you live. if you are not abiding by what the bible teaches and just going along with this old world and this old system of things then YOU my Friend have the mark of the beast on you right now!

Not all religions have churches everywhere, I live in Memphis Tn and there are no Buddhist, pagan, or Spiritualist temples here, so people have to on line to understand meanings and whats better than to go a follower of the faith. YA is bad because to many people come on here and ridicule and than those who don't get angry and ridicule themselves and it becomes a whole big thing!

Those who lean unto there own understanding of scripture are leading others astray and blinded by their "pride!" But this has to occur for the Kingdom of God is coming to this earth and establish His way as the only way.

Pride is man's downfall. The End of the circle of man's self rule will be the beginning of Christ's Kingdom but that "pride" must be broken first!
