Why was God's name so important to Jesus? Why did he show that it is important for us, too, by telling us to pray for its sanctification?

The United States is a country founded on Christianity.

WRONG.....WRONG.....WRONG.....

The VERY FIRST AMENDMENT of the constitution is based on the Separation of church and state.

The paramount reason why the forefathers came to this country was for religious freedom. They listed it as their top goal in forming America. Matter of fact most of the fore fathers weren’t even Christian, but deist, atheist and agnostic.

I see that swordarkeereon's post asking for non-Christian prayers just got deleted by Y!A. Did someone of A Religion Which Shall Not Be Named get report-happy and decide that if it wasn't to do with their religion, it doesn't have the right to exist?

Is anyone else as annoyed by this as I am?

ok...so the question is...When your Christian God started handing out bibles....did he FORGET to hand out a sense of humor also?
So may times I have responded with "Judge not, lest ye be Judged".
SO many are SO quick to judge and comdemn others for their belliefs and the problem is that NONE of them have bothered to learn ANYTHING about any other religion. How can you judge something you know nothing about?
And lets face it...MOST questions asked in humor get serious answers with loads of bible quotes and "God loves you...bla bla bla" added in for good measure.
Lighten up people and quit taking life so serious. Surely...God DOES have a sense of humor.

You can't have it both ways. If Jesus is a seperate entity with freewill and the ability to think on his own, then he and God are the Christian Pantheon. If Jesus is a zombie, activated by God, then the answerers that claim there is no Christian Pantheon are right. Will, y'all try to get beyond the words drummed in you by your Shouters. This isn't even a faith thing, it's straight word defintion and usage.

Are you truly that frightened of the word Pantheon because it is part of the classic religions?

Seriously. I'm sure I'm someone is going to tell me that Heaven is just a state of being and that there's no physicality involved. However, if you can believe there's a magic man in the sky who makes bad things happen, why can't you believe that winged angel-people are rolling around on heavenly clouds in wheelchairs? If they don't have wheelchairs, how did they learn to walk? Isn't that a pretty serious adjustment to make? Heaven shouldn't be about learning new life skills.

My daughter is homeschooling my 2 grandkids because she said they need to be in a Christian environment which I totally agree with.
In Florida where she lives are groups of parents who homeschool and once a week all the kids/parents get together to go on outings so the kids are socializing with other Christian kids in the area.. She said through homeschooling she can absolutely teach her kids about Creation instead of Evolution, which is discussed in public schools...
My question is this: What are your thoughts on Christian based homeschooling?

You do know that for Christians, what is in the New Testament supercedes what is in the Old, don't you? That Jesus says the greatest commandment is to love others? Not just Christians, but all others. A Christian is someone who tries to imitate Christ, hence the name. If they don't love you, they're not Christians.
