Putta Rat is the only one with a correct answer.
It dates back to when there was a veil of partition between the holy place in the tabernacle (and temple) and the holy of holies where God dwelt. When Jesus died on the cross, this veil was ripped from the top down. Read detail about the veil below in my study.

The veil was something that separated the priests from the common people. The priests were the only ones who could go to God on behalf of the people. When Jesus died the, veil was parted, showing that we no longer needed a priest to go to God on our behalf; that Jesus was now our partition.

God placed a veil between us and our memories of where we lived before we were born. So parting the veil means seeing into heaven where all unborn spirits and we used to reside.
