It is an ancient method of execution. Christians use it as a symbol to mock Jesus. I'm sure if I was Jesus I'd be pretty pissed that many people use the method of my execution as a way to remember me.

Symbol of Death. The way Romans crucified people in those times. It was prophesied in Psalm 22. In Psalm 52-53 says that Jesus would take our iniquity on His shoulders and pay them. Everything that happened on that day was fulfilled. But I see the cross where the only sacrifice for my sins could have been paid.

Email me if you have serious questions, love to discuss this further. Hope the Lord speaks to you.

The cross was ameans of execution used by the Romans in ancient times. They nailed the offender to it and left him there to die. It was considered a disgraceful sort of death, similar to being hung or getting the electric chair nowadays. One of those executed this way was Jesus. Christians believe that Jesus was the incarnation of God. (Incarnation means that he is the bodily form taken by God). In becoming human and accepting all human weaknesses, including pain, disgrace, and death, Jesus brought divinity into the human experience, by sharing it all with us. Christians also believe that Jesus returned to life in a new, immortal, glorified body, and that by doing so, he conquered death and freed us from its bonds. Because the cross was the instrument of all this, it has become an honored symbol of Christian belief. The "meaning of the cross", to Christians, is a reminder of all these things, from the wickedness of the world which inflicted such a death, to the companionship of Jesus in joining human suffering, to the conquest of death and the joy of resurrection, and a lot of other things as well. The cross is a convenient simple symbol to remind Christians of a lot of complex parts of our faith.

The cross is a Roman death symbol. People today where it around their necks to visibly show their honour and respect for Jesus, when actually it is nothing merely thanj a death symbol. People might as well wear an electric chair across their necks or a hypodermic needle, It's all the same. People believe they are worshipping Jesus, when actualy he told us to honour him by keeping his commandments!

The symbol of the cross was adopted by Christianity...it was originally used in early pictographic writings to symbolize "the Sun". Get the reference, "son" and "Sun"? It was an easy transition because the Christian mythology does include the crucifixion of Christ, and his resurrection...the rising of "the son"...

The Cross is the place on which the God of this universe was nailed to die on your behalf. He died on those beams of wood to save you from self-destruction. Faith in Jesus and what He did for you on the Cross will mean you go to Heaven. Visit www.gotquestions.org for more info. Hope this helps.

The cross was the cruelest means of torture and death by the Romans.

Jesus Christ was crucified on a cross, however, after he laid in a tomb for 3 days he arose!

Adam and Eve were told they could eat of any tree except the fruit of "the tree of the knowledge of good and evil").
The serpent (satan) deceived Eve into taking and eating it's fruit. She gave to Adam to eat.The punishment for rebelling against God is death and the Lake of fire.Jesus came to earth and shed His blood on the cross and died.Since He is sinless death and hell couldn't hold Him.Since sinless Jesus died for sin all you and all people have to do is repent of sin and accept Jesus offer of forgiveness.

The meaning of the cross is quite simply suffering and death for Christ as well as his earthly fate. Bot to us, it is salvation because that is where the sacrifice for our sins took place and how and where we recieve grace.
