How and why is Jesus real. When I was younger I was a "born again" Christian but now that I am older (though I am still not very old at all) I have made several realisations about how Christianity cannot be right. I believe in God and I like all Christians believe that God is a perfect being. So why if he is so perfect would he send his son down to Earth and create a religion knowing that by doing so he would isolate 4 billion of the world's population and subsequently damn them all to hell for not having the beliefs that he wants. I believe that God doesn't care what you believe in he isn't completely self-centered like Christians see him as, he doesn't care nor wants us to worship him. I believe that all God wants from us is to live moral and kind lives towards our fellow man and by doing so he will grant us entry into whatever lay beyond death.

Anything that was capable on creating an entire universe, everything within it and then monitoring and communicating with the lifeforms within it, would have to be the most complicated thing in the universe...more complicated than the universe itself infact!

A pot is not more complicated an object than the potter that made it.

A part of a machine is not more complicated than the whole machine itself.

So whilst it's nice to imagine God is the easiest, cuddliest, friendliest, biggest, simplest ball of light you can, that can't be the so.

And yet, it's the very same arguement that religious folk use to discredit evolution. That something so complicated as humans don't come about by chance. Why doesn't the religious definition of what is complexity, apply to their head guy?

Suppose someone breaks a whole bunch of commandments and decides he wants to turn his life around. Then suppose he goes to confession, and the priest says all is forgiven. This person truly and earnestly wants to start fresh and turn over a new leaf. Unfortunately, the person has a hard time believing he is forgiven and thinks he is the vilest, lowliest creature on the planet. He has a hard time dealing with and feeling accepted by the people who "knew him when". The person is not an evil guy. Just someone who made some bad choices, realizes that now and wants to turn his life around. Are these bad feelings punishment for evil past behavior? Does a belief in God's mercy and a new life dedicated to good works eventually help us to feel that mercy?

Some on here have stated that energy was "in the beginning". Fair enough. However, what nudged that energy making it kinetic? Knowing that energy cannot move itself, it needs a catalyst...what was that catalyst?
