I'd go over there, ask to speak to the carpenter foreman, and ask if they needed another carpenter and how much an hour do they pay!
Other than that, I wouldn't think twice about it - but then again, I live in a neighborhood with one of the largest Muslim populations in the country - Harlem, in New York City's Borough of Manhattan.
We already have 3 big mosques around here - the Islamic Cultural Center on 96th St, and the Masjid al-Aqsa and the El Haj Malik al-Shabazz Mosque, both on 116th St. The ICC is beautiful - it looks just like the mosques over in Arabia!! The El Haj Malik al-Shabazz Mosque is historic - that was Malcolm X's old mosque.
So I wouldn't have a problem at all if they built a mosque on my block!

I'd wonder how the two residential zones next to me got changed to institutional zones without due process or my being informed.
Then I'd prepare for the battle between the mosque and the Mormon Church behind my house.

Probably nothing. I'm a notoriously heavy sleeper, so the call at 5 a.m. wouldn't faze me.
Seriously, I would encourage it. I'm pretty tolerant. People need to know more about cultures outside their social norm. It gives people a chance to see inside the Middle East, if even just a small fraction of it. It's not hurting them, and they'll see.
Power to the Muslims! Says the agnostic, anyways.

In europe they wooldn't be allowed to call for the prayer via loudspeakers. So I guess I wouldn't be bothered by noise. As long as they don't come to my door to convert me and give an inauguration party with free food, everythings fine ^^

I'd probably stop by for a visit. Dialog is always valuable. I'd be interested in how they view me and my faith.
I'd also want to influence some of the decisions concerning landscaping - I am really tired of my neighbors dead pine tree! Do Muslims like / dislike pine trees? - very important issue.

I wouldn't care. I live near many now, one more wouldn't make a difference (I am American, living in Morocco) For those who mentioned the 5am call to prayer... you really don't notice it after a while. It used to wake me up, but after a week or so I began to sleep right through it.

I'm surrounded by 4 churches. There's no room for a mosque. If they built one, it couldn't be any worse than the churches, so I wouldn't care.

Wouldn't be surprised. There are a lot of Muslims in my neighborhood. But they better not build when I'm sleeping.

I would do nothing different than if they were to build a church, temple, chapel, cathedral, basilica, tabernacle, abby, sanctuary or synagog next door.
