Are you a Christian because your mom and dad are Christians?

Are you a Christian because most people where you live say that they are Christians, and you don't want to feel left out?

Are you a Christian because you converted to Christianity later in life?

Why do you believe what you believe? If you believe in something, you should certainly be able to state why you believe in it.

I often see in responses an "if Jesus existed". What I wonder is how is it that some say they acknowledge He existed and others who say that Jesus didn't exist?
Of those who are not Christian do you believe He existed or do you not, and why don't you think He lived at all?

There is a prophetic statement and also a story in Islamic history about prophet Muhammad's son-in-law who was trying to marry another woman (in addition to prophet Muhammad's daughter Fatima). When prophet Muhammed knew he REFUSED that marriage and told him that whatever hurt his daughter (Fatima) hurts him also.

I admire the reaction from prophet Muhammed to protect his daughter. But I am also asking, why did prophet Muhamamd marry 11 wives at the same time then?

Do you follow your religion's prime directive because you must, or because you do?

For example - do no harm. Do you follow it because your religion tells you to, or do you follow it because it automatically comes from your values?

I have seen many questions asking why atheists don't commit crimes without the "guidance" of God. I believe most of these questioners make the mistake of believing people are only in it for themselves. However, our most basic instinct is to continue the species. Secondary to that is to protect ourselves. Given these ideas, is it easier to see how people would choose to do good? Do you think that people prefer to do bad things? If so, why? If your belief was based on something like the ego, does the new understanding above help resolve this belief?

Basically, why would people think that humans generally prefer to do "bad" things and does the understanding above of our base instincts help you understand how our desire for community and togetherness help keep us from committing hurtful actions?

I have found some of the information on this site regarding Kundalini awakenings are not only highly ignorant, but dangerous to the person who is undergoing such an experience.

Lisa S. inquired regarding Kundalini-type symptoms. Unfortunately, not only was the possibility of such an awakening dismissed by some on this site, but she was labeled as a possible schizophrenic.

If you are undergoing a Kundalini awakening, doctors CANNOT help you. This is spiritual event with physical implications. Understading, acceptance and changes in lifestyle are the only solution. A misdiagnosis could be catastrophic, and end in a visit to a psychiatric hospital.

Kundalini has been well-known in Indian spiritual literature for centuries. For more information, please access these sites: http://home.wxs.nl/~brouw724/kundalini.html, as well as www.biologyofkundalini.com. The site owner, Jana Dixon, underwent an awakening several years ago, and is a fountain of knowledge regarding such a phenomenon.

Ok so the title of the question has nothing to do with this. Only to catch you attention lol. BUT PLEASE READ ON! lol

Just absorb yourself in this story and play along please :)
You're sitting on your computer when suddenly, a remote control appears in front of your eyes :0 ! The remote control has only two switches however: One labelled "Convert population to Atheism" and the other labelled "Convert Population to Christianity".
Please tell me your current religion, and then tell me the button you would hit and why.
I'm an Atheist, but I would hit Christianity because of the fact that I believe it is rather Cruel to obliterate a religion so selfishly. While we would still have our current level of knowledge (hopefully :p ), eventually I believe the scientific mind will emerge again, and people will once again question dogmatic faith. What about you?

peace be upon u all

Many ppl in this site judge islam by what the media says, and what political leader say. Islam, if u read the quran and ask the scholars and the believer about it, u would know that its a religion of peace and equal rights. nothin that u would do wrong here in this life would be "let go" untill u ask for forgivness. U have rights for urself as well as to your creator. True islam teahes u to thank, to help, to give the needy and to do only good .There are ppl in every religion that destroy the image of their religion by doing weird things.

READ THE QURAN THAN JUDGE
There is nothing to lose!!!!

not to be long, i have nothing if u do or do not, all i am saying is giving an advise. what is there to lose.
