Are there any particular rituals to be perfomed while observing mouna vrath?? Also cud someone please tell me if there is any particular day in the week for mouna vrath.

are there any specific reason for you to observe the mauna vrath, that is keeping your mouth shut..? If you observe it, for a full day ,atleast your friends and family members may celebrate your mauna vrath. As fasts go, it is the most difficult one for any human being--you can abstain from food, drinks, smoking and alcohols,why even from sex , but can you abstain from opening your mouth ? Sages of yore had performed such feats , but considering that temptations were less frequently thrown on their path , it must have been easy for them. I had a prof of medicine, a famous physician, who used to keep the vrath on evry tuesday--atleast the junior doctors were happy because they escaped from his angry comments during the ward rounds and clinics, but the poor patients. used to suffer . If you are goingto purify yourself by keeping the vrath, any day ofthe week will do , I presume.
