1. The names on the ossuaries were very common at that time 1. "Charlesworth of Princeton Theological Seminary says he has a first-century letter written by someone named Jesus, addressed to someone else named Jesus and witnessed by a third party named Jesus."2 This demonstrates the commonality of the name Jesus. Isn't it likely that other names would be common as well? Think about it. The name "Mary" occurs in the gospels several times in reference to different women. Also, If Christianity were on the rise in the culture, it makes sense that people would adopt Christian names as they eagerly moved away from the imposing Roman Empire's rule. This would increase the name frequency.
2. "'Jesus' and 'Joseph' were common names of the time, and another ossuary bearing the same inscription [Jesus son of Joseph] was revealed by archaeologist Eleazar Levi Sukenik in a 1931 lecture in Berlin. However, this ossuary is set apart by its presence in a tomb alongside others.......

Please do not misunderstand. I am not accusing ALL atheists of being criminals. Many of you no doubt live moral lives. On this mornings news, I viewed a tape of a mugger punching a 101 year old woman so he could steal her purse. Our society is becoming more violent every day and people without conscience are taking over our streets. I know you do not believe in God but if you are a moral person as many of you claim to be, it stands to reason that you at least were taught to adhere to the rules that were established by men of God on which most laws in civilized countries are based. It is apparent that even with these laws, violence and crimes without conscience continue to escalate. My question is this: If Christian beliefs and being accountable to God simply go away as you seem to want them to do....what standard will people in the future use to teach their children the difference between right and wrong? Are laws enough without a reason to obey them?

Is it MOTHER NATURE, or is it RELIGION.
Humans are a very small part of the Earth's 6 billion year existence. At the present rate of self destruction, I give us only a couple of hundred years to remain a sane thinking antity.

The 18th of Feb is Mothering Sunday, although it's original meaning has been lost to a certain extent and in the UK it is erroneously referred to as Mothers Day, and treated as such. Whereas Mothers Day is American and celebrated I believe on the 14th of May (irrespective of the day of the week), I have so far not been able to find a card acknowledging it as Mothering Sunday, guess I will have to make my own

Man is the only animal in this entire universe who kills for pleasure. He has no compunction in using his stomach as a graveyard for dead animals. Yet he feels he is superior to all.

Why must we fight with the infidel?
Can't we just accept they have a different belief
and they won't convert no matter what.

Since Romulans evolved from Vulcans, as the Theory of Next Generation claims, they might have similar religious beliefs.

Seems to me you can choose to ignore any part of the bible you want?
so long as you can justify it to yourself. how many parts and rules do you ignore;

They ignore the many parts that call for fanaticism, rigidness, killing of unbelievers, punishments that affect not only the supposed sinner, but his family, including several generations of descendants.
They skip the parts that say than people should be put to death for homosexuality, or for disobeying their parents, or for doing this, or that - even for gathering wood on the Sabbath.

They move over the parts that don’t make any sense. my favourite;
1He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD.

23And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen

First of all my apologies to the real followers of religion, but I really must do this as part of a project.

Can you please help me think of questions that do not include the concept of religion, but will provoke some kind of religious response?

For example, ‘Do you think schools should educate children on evolution?’ May be that would draw in some believers to enlighten me on their religion, whatever it is.

And when I ask them, I'll ask them in a different account.

The bible, both OT and NT, obviously does not like homosexuality. Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, 1 Timothy 1:9-10, the list goes on. Modern, tolerant christians say, well, it's a sin, but no different from any other sin. They should just, you know, fight it like I do against my sins.

Do you hear what you are asking? A man and a woman in love having sex outside marriage would also be sin, but they can solve this by getting married. A man and man couple or woman and woman couple are also sinning, but they can NEVER be redeemed. No marriage for them!

So in essence you are asking them to spend their lives alone pining for love, or, I don't know, pretend they like the opposite sex and get married there (in all probability making two people very unhappy in the long run). Does this sound tolerant? It sounds cruel to me.

I know that wiccans and many pagans have a love for animals, plants and nature but I would be interested in hearing from any other religions as to what your beliefs are surrounding those who care for sick or formerly mistreated animals.

Does the fact that their heart goes out to such animals (mostly former pets) that were abused or neglected before being taken in to care, rather than humans, mean they are not looked upon as charitiably as a traditional philanthropist?

I am interested as I feel it is my vocation to care for all those animals who have not had a good life, as they are even less capable of looking after, and protecting themselves, than us humans.

I understand that cruelty, war, famine and violence are are a part of our world but I will not tolerate anyone raising a hand up against an animal.

I do not subscrive to any particular belief system myself but would like to know what you think.

Thanks!
