I think God is reachable through prayer, no matter what religion you believe in. God wants us to be as good a person as we possibly can and to take care of those less fortunate than us.

The question asked was "Every relegion seems to say that god is reachable through that particular relegion. Is this what God wants?"

To this I answer, probably. If God does exist, that is.

But alas, a truer statement would be: "Many relegions seem to say that god is reachable ONLY through that particular relegion."

And that is definitely not what God (if she exists) wants.

The Christian religion says that God can only reveal Himself to an individual and echoes the words of Jesus who said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father apart from Me".

Other religions teach that an individual has to work to find God but the Christian religion teaches what God has said, that the Holy Spirit of God must give a person the gift of faith in order to be saved.

Ephesians 2:1-9 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience-- 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved-- 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

I couldn't speak for what other religions want, but I know that GOD isn't found only in church. I know that the only true way to hear GOD is by prayer with all your heart. GOD wants us to do onto others as we would have done onto ourselves. You should read the Holy Bible and pray with your heart. Then you will know exactly want GOD wants from you. Thank you and may GOD bless.

God is an invention of man. And the inventor has the right to claim god's intentions too. If you do not agree with the available religions, invent your own, or stay with reality.

The first answer has it right. But I think that you were asking if God wants all these religions.

This is probably going to hit you pretty hard , so brace yourself.

God doesn't want everybody. He chooses certain people out of the world that He leads to Him. It's how He worked with the Hebrews; He chose them out of the whole world, and He lead me to Him, something that many Christians would admit to you. You cannot want to come to the real God without Him drawing you in.

Well, I believe that God is searchable through prayer no matter what religion you are.

God says that if you come to him in prayer with a sincere heart and the right motive, he will listen to you. And those who draw close to God, he will draw close to you. (James 4:8).

No, God doesnt want you to approach a religion to seek Him. But to have a frank mind avoiding your pre-fixed intellectual openion towards your approach on Him.

understand what i said. the bible says that " if you do not become like a small child you cannot enter in the Kingdom of God.

our wisdom and intelligence are nothing in front of God. so dont wonder within religious teachings come out and seek God through Bible.

In Christianity one can only have a relationship with God only through Jesus Christ as one's Savior and Lord. Christianity is strictly not about practicing a religion but about having a personal relationship with God. A Christian is in God's presence in Jesus Christ.
