And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, "Master, Master, we are perishing!" Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm. But He said to them, "Where is your faith ?" And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, "Who can this be ? For He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him!" Luke 8:24 - 25 (cf. Job 38:11).

Who is Jesus ? He is...

"...the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." Revelation 13:8.

"The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" John 1:29.

The one who "...died for our sins according to the Scriptures" 1 Corinthians 15:3.

The one who "...has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself." Hebrews 9:26.

"...declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead." Romans 1:4.

Who is Jesus ?

The one in whom we must believe in order to receive forgiveness of sins, reconciliation to God and eternal life. John 3:16, 11:25 - 26, Acts 10:43, 13:38 - 39, 16:31, 26:18, Romans 3:21 -26.

He is the ONLY way to God - "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6.

The ONE mediator between sinful men and a holy God - 1 Timothy 2:5.

A sympathetic eternal High Priest who is at the right hand of God and makes intercession on behalf of all who truly believe in Him. Romans 8:34, Hebrews 4:14 - 16, and my particular favourite -

"Therefore (Jesus) is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them." Hebrews 7:25.

Who is Jesus ? He is...

"...the Root and Offspring of David" - Revelation 22:16. "Root" pertains to His deity, as the creator of all things (Colossians 1:16, Hebrews 1:2). "Offspring" refers to His humanity, as a physical descendant of David (Luke 3:23 - 38).

Incidentally, the term "firstborn" used of Jesus in Colossians 1:15 (Gr. prototokos) means "first in rank" (cf. Romans 8:29). If the writer had intended to convey the thought of Jesus as a created being, a more appropriate Greek term, protoktistos (first created), could have been used.

Jesus is...

The one who is the judge of all men -

Acts 10:42 - "...to testify that it is (Jesus) who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead."

See also Romans 2:16, 2 Timothy 4:1.

Jesus is...

"The Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, THE FIRST AND THE LAST." Revelation 22:13 (caps for emphasis). The unique term, "the First and the Last", is also used by Yahweh (Jehovah) in speaking of Himself, recorded in Isaiah 44:6.

The one who is worthy of the same honour as God Himself. John 5:23 says, "...that all should honor the Son JUST AS THEY HONOR THE FATHER. He who does not honor the Son (i.e. in this way) DOES NOT HONOR THE FATHER WHO SENT HIM." (emphasis mine).

To be worshipped - "And let all God's angels worship him." Hebrews 1:6 (New World Translation, 1961 edition).

Jesus is...

The Lord of glory (1 Cor. 2:8), the last Adam (1 Cor. 15:45), the bread of life (John 6:35), the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20), the good shepherd (John 10:11), the Holy One of God (Mark 1:24), Immanuel (God with us - Matthew 1:23), the light of the world (John 9:5), a Prophet (Acts 3:22), the head of the church (Colossians 1:18), the Word (John 1:1) and KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS (Revelation 19:16) !

On a personal note, He is my Saviour - my only righteousness in the sight of God - and Lord of my life.

Glory to God!

Jesus is the Son of God. He is my Saviour. Jesus died and rose again. He was born of a virgin and suffered a terrible death which was prophesied 400 years before He was born. He died this death so that we could have life for eternity. He was sent to earth so that He could be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Jesus never sinned. He was God and man while on earth. Today He sits at the right hand of God. Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit are ONE.

I love Jesus with all my heart and all my soul. He is my Great Love.

Jesus is the manifestation of God in the flesh. He was the Word of God before that, and was prophecied to come and deliver the world from sin. Jesus was a man that was also God, the Kinsman Redeemer, the type of which is found in the Book of Ruth in the Old Testament.

If I had to sum all or most of it up in one sentence; Jesus is the prohecied savior who was God all along, and yet a part of God at the same time who provided salvation for any who believe in Him.

Jesus is one of the prophets send by God. He is the central figure of Christianity. The Bible was the Holy Book revealed to him. According to the Christian belief, he is the son of God. He was crucified and will return.

Muslims also believe in Jesus and the Old and New Testament. But they reject that he is the son of God. He is just like a prophet. He was not crucified but taken to heaven and will return
