Are you a Christian because your mom and dad are Christians?

Are you a Christian because most people where you live say that they are Christians, and you don't want to feel left out?

Are you a Christian because you converted to Christianity later in life?

Why do you believe what you believe? If you believe in something, you should certainly be able to state why you believe in it.

Whichever way it started, most of us continue to believe because we experience the joy of having Christ as a part of our lives every day. The way something starts isn't really that important, is it?

But I was raised a Christian and when I was old enough to really understand it, I chose to continue.

I started off as a Christian because mom and dad are Christians.

Then, as I got old enough to read for myself and understand the Bible, I realized that what they were teaching me was in deed the truth!
I have no regrets about my beliefs whatsoever.

I believe that God's kingdom is the only answer to the problems that mankind faces today. (Daniel 2:44, Matthew 6:9,10).

God made promises long ago to prophets such as Moses, Daniel, Jeremiah, and so forth. And all those promises came true. So I also believe that the promise of everlasting life and a paradise earth will also come true. (Psalms 37:9-11).

Most people with parents like mine would turn against Christianity as they were really bad examples.
I am a Christian in spite of my parents, not because of them.
Also, I'm the only one in my family and outside of church on Sunday, I don't know many Christians.
I'm a Christian because I believe. No other reason.

I am a Christian because I realized that I cannot do it all alone... I need strength and I need peace in my life, and until I gave up my own selfish desires and chose Jesus Christ, I didnt have any of that.

I was raised in a family that went to 'church' but to them it was a 'club' that you attended 1 hour a week.. it was not about any change in the way they lived their lives.. it was not about Jesus at all... just a 'weekly' thing to do...

Once I changed my life to follow Jesus, i was actually 'left' out a lot more than i was 'fitting in'.... but I had a peace that I cannot explain. Family members stopped inviting us to their gatherings, not because of anything we did or said... but because we didnt join in the drinking to oblivion, the swearing and the porn garbage that floated around. we never said anything to anyone about it.. just didnt participate in some things and for some reason that made them uncomfortable.

I believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior, because He has delivered me from many destructive habits, many selfish desires, and most of all, because thru Him, i was able to start again on the right path... He gives me strength to endure things other people fall apart over... He gives me Joy even in times of Sorrow... The gifts that God has given me thru my faith are new and exciting and a bit on the amazing side, but I am thankful that He has entrusted them with me.

My faith is not what we preach... it is how we live, how we make our decisions and how we choose to spend our time.

If a Christian why do you need Jesus?

Are you a good person? What a question, most of us believe that we are good people because we can look around and find someone that is far worse than we are. We can always point to the things that we think make us a good person.

But how good are we really? Dare we take this test and look at ourselves and see if we really are good? Hmmm.

If you are willing try this and see just how good a person you are.

The Good Person Test.

How will you do? Pass or fail?

Have you ever told a lie?
Doesn't matter how big or small, just a lie.
What does that make you? Before answering think about this, if I told you a lie what would you call me? A liar?

Have you ever stolen anything? Cost doesn't matter, a piece of gum, failed to give back an ink pen that you borrowed, anything.
What does that make you?

Jesus said, "You know the saying of old, you shall not commit adultery but I say that if look at someone to lust after them you have committed adultery in your heart.
Have you ever lusted?

Jesus said that hate is equal to murder.
Have you ever hated anyone?

See one day we all are going to stand before a Holy God on Judgment Day and he is going to judge us based on His Holy Law, the Ten Commandments. These are just 4 of them and how did you do? Guilty? I have broken all of these and more, what about you? How well will you do on Judgment Day?

If we break just one point of God's Law we are guilty of breaking all the law and Gods Wrath abides upon us all. Based on God's Law we are all guilty and all are deserving of punishment. But there is an out for us.

Jesus paid the price for each one of us, took on himself God's Wrath so we wouldn't have to face it on our own. Jesus was beaten, battered, bleed and died so we wouldn't have to face God's Wrath. He rose again so that we would life in his presence. Our crimes, His payment.

The real question is where will you stand on Judgment Day. Pay yourself or have it paid for you. Think about it.
