The issue is "confusion" Which is "Babel" I Have no problem with them for they are real.. They obey the lust of their belly's for they are sinners. It's the "hypocrites" we despise, I was brought in the family of Christ with much hardship from liars. Unsent, unauthorized frauds.... Supposing that the statement were true, would it count as evidence there is a god?

I've seen church people utter that clever line with smirks on their faces, as if they had some powerful stuff in their glorious kampf against godless science...

Question: Is the statement "There are no atheists in foxholes." anything other than a statement about human fear?

Question: Whose idea is it that the existence or non-existence of a god depends on human opinion anyway?

Question: Well, if you do freak out and start believing in a god, which god will it be?

When I say 'religion' I don't mean an indoctrinatory class, rather a class designed to show how religions of all kinds develop culture, with the goal of creating 'world citizens' our of our children.

How about Philosophy? Will educating our kids in logic and philosophical discourse assist them in become more conscious American citizens and more moral human beings?

I appreciate all opinions, agreeable or not.

Ok, I have been somehow lured into this topic of conversation on yahoo!answers. I started out coming on to learn more about God, and have been overwhelmed by rude remarks by atheists. I have thought alot about most of your positions on religion and I do understand. 1) I know SOME Christians can be pushy and 2) I know the how the bible can seem far-fetched. I'm not saying I agree with your view, but I do understand skepticism. But religion is also very strongly based on faith.

Ok, my question is: WHY have you chosen to NOT believe in God? And.....what is your explaination for how we all can to life? if evolution, etc.....there still has to be a starting point of the first "being". What is it you truly believe? And answer w/o all the ridiculous sarcasm and W/O reference to God. Because so far, everything I have read is jokes, jokes and more jokes.....it is VERY hard to take this whole thing serious.

This was inspired by a response to a more flippant drinking question about drinking after the kids were in bed. My parents drank in front of us but put it away when the pastor came over.

I am curious, those who are underage or those with underage children, do the kids get champagne or wine on special occasions (e.g. new years, birthdays)? How about with special meals (e.g. Thanksgiving) or religious meals (e.g. ???)?

I, for one, let my kids (14 and 10) have champagne on some special occasions and wine with some special meals. Generally they get a little bit in a cordial glass and then they have to switch to a non-alcoholic sparkling grape juice or cider.

See Christ more of a somber, sorrowful, sacrificial martyr, with suffering & persecution rather than his resurection filled with life, joy, godliness, and LIGHT? Also, I still can't understanding WHY they have these other different saints and why also they see and worship Mary as abigger figure than John the Baptist himself? .........and they should of named it the Roman Christian Church or Christ's Roman Church or Christ's Church instead of Roman Universal Church. And if you were to ask me who is the whore that sitteth upon many waters.........well it's obvious (Catholics), I mean not only are they all over the world but they are the only christian church filled with so much sinful acts, and there priest wearing fine linen and big churches filled with gold of graven images. Also, whats up with this opus dei cult they have?

They say Christ was lifted into heaven by God because there was no gravity to hold him down. They pointed out, how could Christ have walked on water if Gravity was real it would have pulled him under. How do angels and birds and even heavy airplanes fly if God doesent let them. He holds thing down that he wants to keep on the ground and other very heavy things he lets fly. God controls it all there is no gravity. What let the apple fall on the guys head if it wasnt God. Otherwise why would it have stayed on the tree. Do you think I should Go to Church with them? You dont think they are a suicide bunch do you like that Tail Bop group of nuts who all killed them selves years ago when the Tail Bop Comet came.
