I know a lot of Christians and many other religious people think that abortion is wrong and is the same as a murder.
I ask that when answering this question, we don't have a debate about abortion being wrong and that no one says "God will provide" or anything along those lines.

Lets say that the right wing conservative movement manages to overturn Roe v. Wade. What programs do you think would/should/could be realistically put into place to care for millions of babies that weren't wanted or planned for?

Please remember that we have many children in abusive homes, suffering because their mothers decided to choose life and were unprepared or unwilling to provide physically, emotionally and financially for a child. Please also remember the limited state budgets.

Secondly, what do you personally do to help mothers who would have aborted and their children, but decided to have them based on the Right to Life campaign?

every time you ejaculate you are killing humans
every month you have your periods, you're losing babies

So if you really believe that the frozen embryos who are being discarded in the garbage every day by the in vitro fertilization clinics are humans, then you must believe that all humans are KILLERS, specifically those who jerk off...

How are the two creation stories in Genesis (7 day creation, Adam and Eve) supposed to be reconciled when they seem to contradict each other? I am a believer, but this does strike me as curious...any thoughts?

You know the ten commandments? Well I didnt need no book to teach them to me cause my parents, whom are not fictional by the way introduced to me at a young age of whats right and wrong. My parents also brought me into this world, I owe everything to them. They have loved me and cared for me over the years. They have helped me with my problems over the years. And I love them for everything they have shown and taught me. I feel religions were created back in the day when a few cunning and crafty characters witnessed all the animals, ie humans running around being..well animals..which is reason why the ten commandments were made up..to try to lure people away from sin..long story made shorter...IF you had good parents you dont need some fairy tales teaching you how to behave...all hail thy parents the true gods ..hey you can even go visit them from time to time and even conversate with them.. more than you can say about some other..welp you get it if not have fun with your holy ghosts !

I forgot where I heard this, but its pretty interesting... Apparently the Hebrew word for "day" in the creation story does not actually mean day, but "time period," which could be anything, 5 minutes to 5 billion years. So then, following this logic, the Bible is saying that God created the earth in seven time periods, which could have been billions of years each, allowing for evolution in each period to one type of organism to the another? is this biblically possible?

I'm reconsidering my whole belief system as of very recently and my whole life I was told there was a God and to pray to him. But...I'm not sure anymore. Why do you believe there is no GOd? are most of you atheists evolutionists? Otherwise, how can you explain how we got here? and the incredible element of design in EVERYTHING-especially the intricacies of the human body....just curious what y'all atheists think-not here to start an argument, I'm here to try to find out what you believe and how you arrived at your current decision.

I just thought of something. Aren't Fundies hiding behind their so-called god? Do they think that by declaring it the will of an omnipotent being, that we can't see that it's their lust for power declaring these things? It's probably been said before, what with all these icons being found with kids in naughty ways.

I'm not religious, it's more of a psychological thing. I've noticed that if you put a phrase in a question that seems to strike a nerve in the religious or non-religious answerers you'll get about 40 answers.

Pre-Implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) is a test that screens for genetic flaws among embryos used in in vitro fertilisation (IVF). With PGD, DNA samples from embryos created in vitro by the combination of a mother’s egg and a father’s sperm are analyzed for gene abnormalities that can cause serious genetic illnesses. This procedure is harmless to the embryo, as it occurs about three days after conception when the embryo is at the four to ten cell stage of development, a point at which the cells are totipotent.

Now, this will mean that some embryos will be disgarded... But PGD could conceivably eradicate all human genetic disease....
While PGD does raise major ethical questions, this scepticism is a little misplaced. Far from PGD devaluing the worthiness of the life of a child suffering from a severe genetic illness, it gives us our first glance at the possibility of entirely eradicating these illnesses.

So. Do you think PGD should be allowed?
