Well, being an atheist myself, I would personally only really argue in this subject matter, if the person was crazy religious zealot, with quotes from the bible, every other sentence...or something like that... Many people including myself feel the need to try expand the persons mind, and get them thinking a little, and maybe help rethink their foundations of what is really real.

The people who were raised with religion but then got emotionally scarred by someone and blamed it on religion instead of the individual.
