Pre-Implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) is a test that screens for genetic flaws among embryos used in in vitro fertilisation (IVF). With PGD, DNA samples from embryos created in vitro by the combination of a mother’s egg and a father’s sperm are analyzed for gene abnormalities that can cause serious genetic illnesses. This procedure is harmless to the embryo, as it occurs about three days after conception when the embryo is at the four to ten cell stage of development, a point at which the cells are totipotent.

Now, this will mean that some embryos will be disgarded... But PGD could conceivably eradicate all human genetic disease....
While PGD does raise major ethical questions, this scepticism is a little misplaced. Far from PGD devaluing the worthiness of the life of a child suffering from a severe genetic illness, it gives us our first glance at the possibility of entirely eradicating these illnesses.

I would say no. Even as a Cathilic, i dont believe that my religion is right... or wrong. I think its God's will for all the faiths and people in the world to live together in peace. Though its his will, people have free-will, which is why there's so much senseless violence in the world. I say that if ur questioning if ur faith is right or wrong, just stick with it... u have a part in the world..... keep the peace. :)

God said: "Thou shalt have no other gods before me, for I am a jealous god."
So... There ARE other gods? and...didn't the "Biblical" God call jealousy a sin?

Can somebody Puh-leeeze tell me where dinosaurs fit into the creationist's scheme of things? Why no "Dino" in the bible? why no T-Rex on Noah's ark?

And WHY, in the "King James Version" of the Bible there's absolutely NO MENTION of LILITH, the first woman God created? It's in the Hebrew version. She didn't get along with Adam, and, basically, she ran away. SO, God took a rib from man and created Woman,Part II, known as EVE. Why not give us the whole story there, ol' King James? Or should it be called, THE HOLY BIBLE... edited for WalMart?

And then... EVERYBODY knows ONLY the Catholic church has SPECIFIC prayers to cast out demons. Even Jesus cast demons out of a man and into pigs who ran over a cliff to their death. No such prayers found in the protestant faith? Hmmm?

Any answers? Debates?

This is a follow-up to my last question about why there are no fatwas against Bin Laden.

Muslims issue thosands of death fatwas. Most people know that Islam is a religion where clergy can resort to issuing death decrees against SPECIFIC PEOPLE. Thats the whole point. The Quran is already exists to give guidance. Fatwas are needed to specifically identifying current people or problems and how Islamic law should be applied to it.

Death Fatwas are issued against specific people who are believed to slander Islam and thus God. NOW understand this...follow close. In Islam, anyone who misrepresents Islam has committed the worst act. Muslims complain all the time about how terrorism gives their great religion a bad image.

So the acts of Bin Laden and other terrorists have massively impacted the worlds view of Islam. Consider the Euro-Union Watchdog reports that show anti-islamic sentiment through the roof.

Were there no God,you would not have been here.

It's the benevolent God that guides you here to get some education and flush your sin.

Poeism? Poeists follow the teachings of Edgar Allan Poe, and this is their sacred text:

This is basically the Atheist's Wager:

You should live your life and try to make the world a better place for your being in it, whether or not you believe in God. If there is no God, you have lost nothing and will be remembered fondly by those you left behind. If there is a benevolent God, he will judge you on your merits and not just on whether or not you believed in him.

P.S. I did not make this up.

I know he's fair, just, and merciful. And I also know I've made some pretty deep mistakes. So I would love to try again, to prove that I can be worthy of heaven.

Would you predict that a clone of Jesus will be created in the next century? Thus, an identical twin born two millennia apart? Obviously some biological mutations may occur and every experience will be different, but it would be quite an interesting outcome.

If you need to know the sin, here goes: i played the "Flying Spagetti Monster" game today, and was well rewarded at the end with beer and stripers. I didn't stop, i kept playing it over and over again, patrick even asked me to go jellyfishing and i just couldn't tear myself away from playing that game. i've neglected feeding GARY. and the ALMIGHTY CONCH is upset with me.
oh the pickle jar i'm in!

Okay, keeping in mind that good moral, God fearing people believe that we ought to love unconditionally; give me an example of how you've done so today...

I'll start: I've told people the truth, and never pretended to be something I'm not...

How's that love?
Well, if I love God it means I obey his commands...and I've obeyed by not watering down his gospel.

Please note: I do not look down on anyone irregardless of race, gender, sexual preference, religion (yes! even religion...), or anything else that would divide us ----

I love the person unconditionally - as God has loved each of us. I do not condone sinful behavior in their life (or mine...) so therefor I'm not being biased/prejudiced/biggot, etc...

God bless.

Now share yours!

The Mormon Church founder had 34 "wives." See http://www.wivesofjosephsmith.org/ Of those, 11 already had husbands, who were living, from whom they were not divorced. And two were only 14 years old! These are indisputable facts, not anti-Mormon attacks.

Study Islam and you will realize that this question is the ultimate question. Its the period of the exclaimation point.

Fatwa's are religious decrees, and are issued by all Islamic clergy. Its important to understand this concept because the purpose of fatwas is to establish a religious rule or edict for things happing in the current day.

So for example, if woman in a community begin wearing a new fashion, like high boots for example, that the clergy find "un-islamic" or "haram" they will issue a fatwa saying not to wear these high boots.

We all know about the death fatwas. Death Fatwas were issued against Salaman Rushdie for writing his book. Slander of Islam are the most agregious acts and this is why cartoonists or anyone else who says things Muslims dont like, find themselves running from these fatwas.

If Bin Laden's acts or any other terrorist or beheader's acts were against Islam, we should expect literally millions of death fatwas. NOT ONE AGAINST BIN LADEN EXISTS.
