Most of what you will read are pre-millennial views: the view that Christ's return will usher in a future millennium of Messianic rule mentioned in the book of Revelation before the final judgment. The believers of this doctrine also hold to the notion of a Rapture of the righteous beforehand.

Others hold that there will be only one second coming of Christ, at the time of the Final Judgment.

Then there are mixtures involving the views of the seven year tribulation and whether it is happening now, will happen later, etc.

These doctrines all fall under the general heading known as the study of end times, or eschatology.

Personally, I am an orthodox preterist.

For explanation of all the various beliefs on end times (eschatology) see:
http://www.religioustolerance.org/millenni.htm

Some sects, such as the folks over at http://worldwide.familyradio.org believe the final judgment will be upon us sometime in mid-2011!

If you have a Bible you should turn to Revelation chapter 20 which goes into detail about Satan being bound 1000 years.

Rev 20:1-3
Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.

Rev 20:4-6 talks about "the saints reign with Christ 1000 years"

Rev 20:7-10 talks about "Satanic rebellion crushed"

Hope this helps you out.

During judgement day the 1000 years when people get resurrected. Some may still be bad people or maybe just not tested. If you were going to make a perfect earth you would want eveyone who was going to live forever to be tested so we won't have this mess again. Or maybe they bring the devil back to show him how nice the earth cleaned up.
He is kind of rule or ruin stragedy. But then this second time he gets killed. So after 1000 years in prison, then he gets the death sentence. Maybe he will come out nice next time?

When Christ appears to set up His millennial (1000 year) Kingdom, Satan is bound and cast into the Abyss for 1000 years. After-wards he is released for a short time, and goes back to his old ways, instigating a rebellion against Christ's Kingdom and his people, whereupon he is destroyed and cast into his final destiny, the Lake of Fire and Brimstone.

Yes, he is chained for 1,000 years during the reign of Christ on the throne of David. Then he is released one more time to deceive the nations one more time. After that, he is thrown into the Lake of Fire.

Revelation 20

Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations.

Revelation 20:1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain. 2 And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, 3 and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while. 4 Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.

7 And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. 9 And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and consumed them, 10 and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them.

12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

After Jesus returns and takes his people to heaven, satan will
be thrown into his hell for 1000 years. For all that time there will be peace, and then he will be released to see if anyone still wants to join him. Then satan and those who choose him will remain there in hell for eternity.
