Just look at all those hungry mouths we have to feed
Take a look at all the suffering we breed
So many lonely faces scattered all around
Searching for what they need

Is this the world we created?
What did we do it for?
Is this the world we invaded
Against the law.
So it seems in the end
Is this what we're all living for today?
The world that we created

You know that every day a helpless child is born
Who needs some loving care inside a happy home
Somewhere a wealthy man is sitting on his throne
Waiting for life to go by

Is this the world we created?
We made it on our own
Is this the world we devastated
Right to the bone?
If there's a God up in the sky looking down
What can he think of what we've done
To the world that He created?

Genesis: An account that actually matches with science. Earth was a formless void: protoplanetary disc in the formation of the solar system. Plants first originated on land. Animal life started in the water, then proceeded to land. Human species is a relatively modern arrival. Mankind has dominion of the sea and air and is charged with taking care of it and learning of it to protect it. (Thus Science is from God as well)

Garden of Eden: Scientists have spoken of the fertile plains of the Jordan River, where the Garden of Eden was located. Garden of Eden existed, further proven by science.

Adam and Eve: Science and DNA analysis have proven we have come from a Mitochondrial Eve approximately 140000 years ago, and a Patriarchal Adam approximately 60-90000 years ago, from whom all mankind is descended. Evolved though we are, as God created the Earth, and all the natural processes in it, including Evolution.

I am just wondering, Christians believe that it is wrong for someone to be gay. I understand that it says that it's wrong in the Bible and stuff, and that your 'significant other' is supposed to be of the opposite gender, but I just don't understand why. If two people of the same gender are in love each other, why is it wrong for them to be? Please don't make a huge deal about this, I'm just asking a question...

...and I'm not bashing gays or Christians, I'm a Christian, and I have friends who are gay, so I have nothing against either kinds of people.

In the bible, i don`t know exactly where, it says that you are not supposed to serve 2 masters, it clearly refers to worshipping 2 gods so is the christian god admitting the existence of other gods?

If there were no other prospective adoptive parents, and the foster parents were abusive or neglectful, why do are some christians opposed to this?

I would like someone who is of this view to please explain their stance and their reasoning behind this. and if you say "cause the bible says its wrong for gays to be together" I'll just ignore you

why when you put forward the case for a possible existance of god do many atheists true to disprove them by attacking ancient books and religions.
i have no religion or holy book. but look for truth in the real world.
i look towards evolution and think this is more likely to support the existance of god then denounce it. likewise with all science.
so to the athiests that do it stop assuming everyone that talks about god are christians or connected to one of the abrahamic familys of religion.
more importantly show me the reasons you dont believe in god. so i know where to look.

First off, I feel that none of us like having our faith bashed or made fun of. Who would? My concern is that when a non believer post a serious question some of us get up on our soap boxes and preach "down" to them. Or, when a non believer posts a insulting answer to one of our questions, we have a tendency to belittle them for having a faith that is different than ours, or take a stab right back. I feel that this is the opposite of what Jesus teaches us. Now, dont get me wrong, Im all for spreading the Good News, but I feel that from time to time some of us, myself incuded, tend to be a bit overbearing and self-rightoues. How about returning their insults with kindness or prayer? Dont you feel that this would be a better example of a true Christian? I for one am going to try.

Many people believe that the purpose of marriage is to have children, and that homosexual marriage should be banned because gay people cannot have children. If you feel this way, then would you also be willing to support a ban on the marriage of heterosexual people who don't want to have kids, are too old to have kids, or are incapable of having kids? If not, why not?

Thanks in advance.

Will anybody here accept this alternative wager?

You should live your life and try to make the world a better place for your being in it, whether or not you believe in God. If there is no God, you have lost nothing and will be remembered fondly by those you left behind. If there is a benevolent God, he will judge you on your merits and not just on whether or not you believed in him.

If Jesus wanted Lobster for his last supper, would the Catholic Church be allowed to charge admission for Communion to ease the cost of the ceremony? It'd be a real bummer to have to pay for all that!
