There's lots of references to different Gods in the bible. He knows he's not the only one. That's why he has that in the 10 commandments about not putting any Gods before him.

Matthew 6:24
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Mammon would equal wealth or power. Yet it's good to understand that through the ages people worship many false Gods. The practice is commended in the 10 commandments. In the Book of Isaiah god had to make it clear still again. "Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me." People are easily lead away from their first love... Jim

There are no other gods. God is the one and only. This scripture did not refer to another god. The scripture is...
Matthew 6:24 - No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
Basically, people tend to worship anything. Some people worship cars, some money, some power, etc. Jesus is teaching that you cannot love both God and money, God and power, etc... In better words...
"Jesus contrasted heavenly values with earthly values when he explained that our first loyalty should be to those things that do not fade, cannot be stolen or used up, and never wear out. We should not be fascinated with our possessions, lest they possess us. This means we may have to do some cutting back if our possessions are becoming too important to us. Jesus is calling for a decision that allows us to live contentedly with whatever we have because we have chosen what is eternal and lasting."

No! God is not admitting there is another God. Probably other gods (note the small "g"). There are alot of small "gods" that other people believed in. You cannot worship the true God and worship a human created "god", or probably satan. Example of which are the idols that man makes to worship. They don't move or speak or feel anything. They're just useless piece of wood, rock or ceramic that other people bow down to. True Christianity believes that Jesus Christ is the only God. Not Mary or any other "gods".

It says that you cannot serve two masters: God and money. They both can't be the most important thing to you. It says nothing in that passage about there being other gods (in the sense that you're saying it.). Idols yes, but no gods.

Mathew 6:24 "Ye cannot serve God and mammon."
a handy little topical guide helped me to find that - now lets see what the Bible dictionary has to say on the word "mammon"
"Mammon -An Aramaic word meaning riches, personified in Matt. 6: 24; Luke 16: 9, 11, 13."
hope that answers your question.

The jewish faith as an ancient faith accepted there were other gods but that they were Yahweh's people. That changed as time went on and they were oppressed and enslaved by polytheistic societies. In a kind of rebellion, they declared that their God was the only God. That in turn caused more opression. The references to the existence of more than one god were removed from the text long before human memry but little trickles remain.
