The Bible does NOT condemn homosexuals and does NOT consider homosexual sex a sin.

The passages in Leviticus (18:22 and 20:13), understood IN THE CONTEXT of the time and place, are not an admonishment against loving sexual relationships between people of the same sex but instead against sex as a form of domination and control. Besides, these passages are part of the Holiness Code which is not binding to modern day Christians (or anyone else for that matter).

The story of Sodom and Gomorrah was a warning against rape, inhospitality and xenophobia. The reason for Sodom's destruction is made clear in Ezekiel 16:48-50. According to Ezekiel, the sins of Sodom were pride, laziness, being inhospitable, neglecting the needs of the poor, greed, and idolatry (the worshiping of idols). Nothing about homosexuality is mentioned. If Jude 1:7 describes anything about the sexual immorality and perversion in Sodom and Gomorrah, it's describing RAPE.

1 Corinthians 6:9 was a mistranslation of the word "malakee". It's used elsewhere in the Bible to mean someone who lacks discipline or one who is morally weak, and never is it used in reference to sexuality or gender.

1 Timothy 1:9-10? Also a mistranslation. 1 Timothy was an admonishment against male prostitution, not committed, loving same sex relationships.

The words "physin" and "paraphysin" in Romans 1:26-27 have also been mistranslated. Contrary to popular belief, the word "paraphysin" does not mean "to go against the laws of nature", but rather implies action which is uncharacteristic for that particular person. An example of the word "paraphysin" is used in Romans 11:24, where God acts in an uncharacteristic (paraphysin) way to accept the Gentiles. When the scripture is understood correctly, it implies that it would be unnatural for heterosexuals to live as homosexuals and for homosexuals to live as heterosexuals.

Homosexuality, according to both the New and Old Testaments of the Bible is a sin, but that does not necessarily mean you will go to hell. Leviticus 18:22, and 20:13 both describe homosexuality as “an abomination.” Contrary to the opinions of some, the Old Testament is not the only place in the Bible that condemns homosexuality. In Romans 1:26-27 Paul is very specific, “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.” In 1 Corinthians 6:9, Paul wrote, “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind.” The Greek word from which the King James Bible gets the word “effeminate” is malakos, which literally means something soft to the touch, but is used as a negative metaphor to refer to a boy kept for homosexual relations with a man. The “abusers of themselves with mankind” are those men who engage in unnatural sexual relations with other men – homosexuals. That is also how the NASB, the NKJV, and the NIV translate that verse. Also in the New Testament is verse 7 from the book of Jude, defining exactly why Sodom and Gomorrah were punished – homosexuality. Hope this helps.

I don't see homosexuality as a sin

Unless it is use it in a sinful way

I don't think they will go to hell

"For what"

For loving same sex person

Love is what Jesus came to show everyone

However some how I think they missed the point of Unconditional LOVE

Sex is not sinful

Unless it is used that way "like in a forceful way like rape"

Sins and going to Hell once again made up by the churches to have POWER & CONTROL over people

We all know what is right and what is wrong

It all comes down to choices

If you choose to do right or wrong self responsibility.

And for the Catholics against Homosexuality have you even heard the saying "How low can a Catholic Go" maybe you should find out how that saying started

I'm taught in my religion that homosexuality is a big sin. In the Bible it also appears to be a sin- if you believe that the Bible is Gods word, why would you go against it?
However, God will judge us, I cant point my finger and say "You are going to Hell"-- Only God knows. So people will do what they want here in this life- without any regard to the Herafter... We are taught that if we are not sure about something (if it is good or bad in God's eyes)-- then DONT do it.
I read often people saying "God wanted us to live in a world of Love- and it is all about loving human relationships- being Gay is not a sin, because it is two people who love each other"-- but I cant help but feel like it is wrong, why would God give us scripture stating to NOT commit adultery, or to NOT lay man with man.... Clearly the message is there in Holy Scriptures.

The Bible says that homosexuality is a sin. Who defines sin? The people on Yahoo Answers don't define sin - GOD does. So, to those who will give me lots of thumbs down for my answer, the question was asked if it was a sin. Since the "barometer" of sin is the Bible and its guidelines, then per the Bible, yes, homosexuality is a sin.

Will you go to hell for being a homosexual? One sin does not condemn a person to hell any more than any other sin. A person can be gay and will be just as guilty as the person who is impatient or rude or tells a lie, or cuts someone off in traffic. Sin is sin in the eyes of God, and the good news is that Jesus paid the price for our sin. Since none of us can earn our way to Heaven because we ALL sin, we can confess to God that we are sinners, thank Jesus for paying the penalty for our sin and trust God to lead us in our lives. If we do that, God promises that we will spend eternity in Heaven with Him. Only God can determine who goes to Heaven and who goes to Hell. It is not for anyone on this forum to make such a determination.

Yes, it is a sin. The bible says that it is an abomination unto the Lord. But you can repent and turn away from it and turn your life over to Jesus, then you will not go to hell.For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son to die for us, so that we would have eternal life in Heaven.

There are some CLEAR answers to your question in the Old Testament, especially in the Torah (first 5 Books), and clearly laid down in Leviticus.
If you are more interested in the New Testament, then PLEASE read Romans Chapter 1, especially from verse 18, and focus on verses 26 and 27.

Homosexuallity...to me ...is disgusting...After all God made two, Male and Female not just male. About going to Hell I dont know if that place exist, And I sure dont want to find out.
