this is a difficult one think and answer

First, you see a question. Then, you answered with a thoughtful and polite answer.

When you get about a couple of thumbs up.....you edit and change it to something horrible, just to screw things up.

So, ever get the idea?

are religious believers always the most critical of other people.

It is just something I have noticed on this site, you ask a simple question, sometimes in jest and you get your head bitten off, usually by someone who says they believe in the man upstairs.

Ok I will admit that not all religious believers are like that, some of you know how to take a joke.

Still if I get an critical answers for this question it will only proove my point.

I mean what is so hard about taking a joke. Laughter and happiness has been prooven time and again to have healing properties, so you would think that churches would promote happiness. Because when all is said and done wouldn't God rather you live a long and happy life, not a sad miserable one, spending all your time locked in your house too afraid to go outside in case it is a sin and you end up spending eternity in hell.

I now believe that Jesus is of God! I'm serious, I did not expect this at all. I actually cried and asked for forgiveness because in the past few months I have been trashing Jesus in my mind and calling him all kinds of things and laughing about it...now I feel awful and I did not even expect this. I was excited for this show because I thought I would feel better about having left my beliefs in Jesus but the show is actually bringing me back to Jesus!

Do you know that there are millions who believe this to be true? If it doesn't fall into what you or your religion believe, does that make it any less important than what you believe to be true?

I was in my car really asking... I said to myself, "Self, just ask, whats the worst that would happen?" So I was looking for signs, and almost at the days end, I was looking out of my Balcony saying to myself, "HA... see nothing..." Then BOOM... A car rear ends a Street sweeper...

Before I have time to think, I run out to go help... I jumped on my phone and called 911... well after everything finished, I started thinking... OK OK, was this a Coincidence?

The last time I talked to "God" was when I heard my aunt just died... My car died in front of someones house. I had just gotten the call and I was Rushing to be with family... I said to myself... "God if your there you will help me!" what happens... the guy I stopped in front was a mechanic and fixed my car... He had a "Special part" that was left over from his car that he just sold.

Unfortunately, I don't feel much different! Too bad. God could have been showing himself to me and it still didn't work... Im doomed!!!

my boyfriend was taking a picture in a mirror ( you can catch them easier this way) and he caught a little girl, there was no-one in the house besides us. You can see her skin color, hair color, eyes, and smile clear as day. It wasn't me because I wasn't standing anywhere near him, and have blonde hair not black.

I see people with bumper stickers that say "SUPPORT GEORGE BUSH"
I dont see any difference.

Lets Look at history.

1933 Hitler gains power- 2001 Bush gains Power
Hitler attacks hiw own country (reightag) BUSH Attacks his own country (9/11)
Germans dont believe Hitler attacked his own country....Americans Dont believe Bush attacked his own country

Hitler Passed Laws Idiencial to the U.S.A. Patriot Acts.

Hitler Invaded Poland.

Bush invaded Iraq, Afganistan, and Will Invade Iran.

Hitlers Appoval rating was at 30%, Bushes Approval Rating is at 30%

Both Hide behind the christian faith, Neither are christians, they hide behind the faith to steal trust. like preists did to molest children.

There are many other simulaties, I just cant think of off the top of my head.

The point is, Supporting Bush, is the same as Supprting HITLER.

It seems Religious people are less tolerant of people with beliefs that are different than their own, while "non religious people" seem to be more respectful. Does anyone else see this besides me?

I want to know what are the quotations from the shastras that forbid deity worhsip in temples during the time of eclipse. If anyone can quote from the samhitas, vedas, upanishats or puranas, I will be extremely obliged. Thank you in advance! I am not looking for so called scientific or traditional answers. I am humbly looking for actual scritpural quotations.

Slaves ok
Plucking out eyes as a way to settle judical disputes was openly advocated by god
God threatens to turn his people into canibals for thier disobiendience
We have to kill witchs and homosexuals and people with one testilce can't be priests along with complex measurements for how far women had to get from the camp while menstrating

Now some will say thats the old testament - God claims to be the same today yesterday and forever and by the way Jesus said nothing about slaves other than they should do a good job and thier master shouldn't whip them too much

Isn't it time to get rid of this primitive hate and craziness Isn't it time to acknowledge that this biblical god has no place in determining morality - Surely we can do better than a god that commanded Israel to kill the babies the old and the weak ????

Rev 21
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

(Read the rest and enjoy. Peace.)

Something along the lines of non related documents testifying to the Israelite slaughter of the Canaanites or Archeological evidence of several Cannite cities burned down will all its inhabitants in a short span of time.

If not then why is this used as a biblical attack?

either it was divine edict beyond comprehension or explanation.

Or it was a fictional war story meant to boost National moral.

since it's such a common name, that must mean the references in the bible do not all refer to the same person, right? I mean, the bible doesn't mention any others, and since the Jesus tomb is a hoax because there were zillions of Jesuses running around then, why should we believe that the one who died is any relation to the one who rose?

I'm an atheist...I don't want to be. I was raised Christian...it was very bad--I don't want to go into it, but religion was used to justify so many things--and I tried to believe through all of it and did believe and then one day my brain just shut off and was like, there is no God. And that made sense. I was fine with that. But it's so miserable, believing in nothing now for me--just to see how the ones you love are so afflicted and it's all for nothing...there is nothing more than this suffering...I can't even see myself being spiritual...I just see people who are as being so much happier--I try to think like they do and can't.

I ask simple questions about the Bible god, and I get all kinds of wacky diatribes, what's going on? Are the church people going through a phase right now? Whatever did I do to incur their irkage?

Anyway the world is rather different from what I expected, oh did I say that already?

That since the gospels were written 30+ years after the death of Jesus that acts and deeds could have been done by others to insure that prophecies were "fullfilled" and many of the so called events are built on myth and legend or fabrication.
