You may in fact have read the Bible, but your statement suggests that you have not studied it.
Although the gospels and even the epistles were written some time after Jesus' death, they were written by eyewitnesses of the events. Do you not suppose that these writers were able to "keep notes" or how about this, a miracle such as feeding the 5,000 would be a pretty difficult thing to forget, and even make up as you would have 5,000 people to refute it.
And as the men wrote as inspired by the Holy Spirit, we are not entirely reading "memory only" manuscripts?
Finally may I suggest that you do some research on the way in which the Bible was put together. You might find it enlightening, unless of course you choose to gather your information with a closed mind.

They also forget that the "King James edition" , so many of them tote about, was almost totaly rewritten to the Kings tastes, beliefs, and wants in his time long ago. These texts are very different then when they were written, as I believe many of my Pagan texts were, too. Don't ever believe anything passed down as "Ancient knowledge" really is, even if it is something worthwhile. Do your own studying, and make decisions for yourselves, not because some Ancient book told you to.

I can assure you that should you return and read the Bible again you will come back to Y!A and delete this statement/question.
Edited: I disagree wholeheartedly with your claim of Bible Knowledge. And I do so based on your statement, which in fact, can be refuted by even the most elementary of Christians.

No,the Gospels were written extremely close to the time of Jesus,by eyewitnesses.
Somme of the prophecies were not ones that could have been fuflieed by a person trying to do it.
No,the events were not built on 'myth' 'legend' or 'fabrication'.Jesus and His disciples highly valued honesty, and nearly all of Jesus' disciples were martyred for their testimony,

Youre also forgetting the editing that Emperor Constantine had done to the Bible a few centuries later.

I know some Christians who do realize that, yes. I think most of them are stuck in the dogma of theological literalism, unfortunately.
The ones who "get it" are called postmodernists. I don't really understand why they are still Christians.

Oh...that's such a tired old cliche.
Study the bible for yourself (I don't believe for a minute that you really have)...don't trash it out of hand without any knowledge. God can show you what is true....if you wish to know it.
