Slaves ok
Plucking out eyes as a way to settle judical disputes was openly advocated by god
God threatens to turn his people into canibals for thier disobiendience
We have to kill witchs and homosexuals and people with one testilce can't be priests along with complex measurements for how far women had to get from the camp while menstrating
Now some will say thats the old testament - God claims to be the same today yesterday and forever and by the way Jesus said nothing about slaves other than they should do a good job and thier master shouldn't whip them too much
Isn't it time to get rid of this primitive hate and craziness Isn't it time to acknowledge that this biblical god has no place in determining morality - Surely we can do better than a god that commanded Israel to kill the babies the old and the weak ????

I wonder. Did the word slave actually mean worker or employee??? Hhmmm..Maybe! Ever hear a lady say that she was slaving over a hot kitchen stove? Does that mean someone was standing behind her whipping her? Or, does that mean she was working, working hard cooking something? Read the whole story about the eyes, etc. They were warned not to do the sinful, inhumane, wrongful things they were doing. They were given warning after warning and told what would happen it they kept doing these things. They were told about the eyes etc. if they didn't stop it. Did they listen? Did they take the warnings to heart? No. They kept it up anyway knowing what the punishment would be. But they didn't believe it, they didn't listen, they did what they wanted to do. Then they paid for it. They got what they were told they'd get if they didn't listen. If a cop warns you not to speed a couple of times but you don't listen and keep on driving too fast, would the cop be wrong for giving you a ticket the next time he catches you? You knew what was right and what was wrong, and so did they. They got punished just like they were told they would if they didn't listen.

God threatens to turn people to cannibals? You mean people might become cannibals- big difference but you see what you wish.
no clue what a "witch" is - learn to spell.
As for Homosexuals, you find me two eye witnesses that saw two men having anal sex after giving them a waring that they will get the death penalty if they do so I will give you a cookie.
The fact is the death penalty was used less often in Biblical Israel than in the United States today, but I would not expect you to study these things before you make gross generalizations.
As for menstruation, do I have to go into biblical hygiene?
Then again I would not expect you to be bothered by scholarly facts and information. No gross misrepresentations work a lot better.

What you say is correct but that just means the Bible is DEEPLY flawed - it is a work of men - NOT God. -don't blame God for it...
Psalms 137:8-9 - 8 O Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, happy is he who repays you for what you have done to us 9 he who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.
Exodus 35:2 – "2 For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death."
Ephesians 6:5 - "5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ."
1 Peter 2:18 - "18 Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh."
1 Timothy 2:11-12 – "11 A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent."
Matthew 25:1 - "1 At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom."
Deuteronomy 21:18-21 – "18 If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, 19 his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. 20 They shall say to the elders, "This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a profligate and a drunkard." 21 Then all the men of his town shall stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid."
That is just scratching the surface!

Ummmmmm, excuse me. But where did you find that rubbish? That isn't what the Bible says. God never said he'd turn people into cannibals for disobedience. What kind of drivel is that? Christians only 'cross-reference' with the Old Testament, and yeah, it was like that before God sent Jesus...which He was a part of God...so God could understand.
Boy...are you crazed and goofy. The 1st Roman Catholic Church did have a part in the killing of witches as they were seen as being demonic and worshiping many gods and goddesses. But that was a lonnnnnnnngggg time ago. No such thing has been done since those witch trials ended.
YES, God is the same yesterday, today and forever. Jesus said, 'slaves, obey your masters and do good unto them.' But then He also said...Masters, be good to your slaves.
This all comes from Ephesians 6: Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour they father and mother;(which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayetst live long on the earth. And ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath; but bring them up in the narture and admonition of the Lord. 5. Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the hart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free. And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening; knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

You have not read the bible very well!
Jesus came so we are living in the NEW TESTAMENT now.He advocates love & gentle kindness, but He does not advocate sin.
It is still wrong to steal, lie.fornicate, commit adultery, perform lude acts, rape, torture or do otherwise heinous acts!
Back when Jesus came, there were still slaves.God did not make slaves of anyone, men made slaves. But there are still servants among us today. Some ppl have no other way to make a living or have a place to live.
It is so easy to speculate what is written in the bible! So many stories are told & half of them are made up to purpose someone's belief to do wrong or pervert God's word.
A friend of mine's father tried to get us to believe it was in the bible that a father could have sex with his own daughter! Now how sick is that?
The bible is the perfect guide for life,if you read it correctly & not twist it around to serve your own purposes!
