Just to go along with the question (which obviously cannot be logically answered): Perhaps there have been numerous universes previously, and we are the Nth generation. Not the first, and will not be the last. The cycle will repeat indefinitely.

Genesis become written to describe the priority in which mankind got here across itself. The writers suggested look, it really is what we've were given, how did we alter into right here? they had to describe mankind operating demanding for survival, they had to describe embarrassment at being bare, they had to describe discomfort at childbirth, they even chosen to describe concern & mistrust of snakes. So the tale they write protected the origins of all those issues. And making it guy's fault for sinning takes the duty faraway from God even as also recognising a basic function of mankind's behaviour, a behaviour that all of us understand often times receives us into large problem. yet differently God would have prevented sin contained in the genesis tale isn't to have the forbidden timber contained in the backyard of Eden contained in the first position. Having designed us, & because he's conscious of each little thing, God is conscious of precisely what we will do - you need to even say he designed us to do it. yet i imagine my line of theory is extra reasonable. it really is what we hit upon, we do not understand the way it got here about, so right it really is a narrative that grants one rationalization. with out wishing to disrespect Bible believers the Genesis tale is quite like Rudyard Kipling's 'in order that' memories. properly possibly no longer so fantastical, yet with a similar foundation - we've an issue, so right it really is a narrative to describe how that problem exceeded off.

It's a curious question ..I have thought about it sometime ago, God has to be created by some God & so, who is that other God....so on so forth....I got the answer & stopped asking when God told Moses who He is when Moses asked Him who should he tell the people of Israel that sent him to them :-
God said to Moses, "I AM THAT I AM"
Laws of Nature don't apply to Him!
He created the Nature and the laws thereof!

First let's correct your terminology. "Infinite" connotates space. Your question is regarding time, so the correct term would be "eternal." Now, if any being is eternal, they would be outside of, and unnaffected by, the timeline as we know it. Assuming god created everything (including time), then there could be no "before" or "after", since these relational terms are dependant on time itself. It's kind of like asking "what was i eating before i made dinner?" before dinner there was no eating, that's why dinner was made. Before this universe, there was no time.
(i assume he was doing "god stuff")

Thats the mystique of God he has not history, all we know about him is what hes choosen to tell us. No one knows who or what God is, how he came to be, its all a mystery. Whats important is that we dont try and apply the laws of nature to God. Lets not assume that God cant be infinite because he had to have been born from his mother at some point. Laws of nature dont apply to him, he made them. Its a hard psycological barrier to break through when thinking about him, because nothing we know can be applied to him, he is completley "Outside the Box"
