If the glory of an omnipotent and omnipresent God is shown in his own creation, which could be experienced and observed by man, and his laws are written on man's heart, then why would God choose to communicate with man in human words, which are dependent on mankind's understanding and interpretation through imagery and symbolism?

Language and words are dualistic human lables that are incapable of transcending human understanding based on imagery, symbolism, and metaphores. But the universe functions and exists as it does regardless of any individuals belief systems. Why does the universe, God's own creation, contradict so much of the words and messages in religious doctrine?

There are a lot of really troubling women out there today, and on this forum especially.

There are some of us who REALLY appreciate the few that actually bother to keep their values.

It seems like the popular first date with most of these other broads usually starts with a trip to the STD clinic.

sunday at my church service, i was approached by a couple of leaders of the church, and asked to be part of the worship team(band), because im a well gifted drummer, and they are in need of a drummer! well they asked me questions about my life, and my outlook on my where
my life stands with god, knowing ive had a rough past life growing up, spent 18 years
going in and out of prison for petty stuff, only finding it really hard to change time after
time! long story short, i finally got my life togather, and started doing the right thing!!
and i give thanks to my fiance who ive been with for a year now, and whos been my inspiration from day one, we live togather and yes we have un-maritial sex,and that was one of the churches concern, because of the accountability of church staff members!! if i do except this possition, then i would have to move out of my fiances apt, until we get married or agree to abstain from
sex until we get married! what do i do?? i really want to play for god!!

When answering questions regarding Islam, I have noticed a tendancy for people to be extremely negative and almost insultive if not worse. Can people answer questions based on facts not assumptions, and answer them in a more respectful manner?

Why are there so many rules in there about taking a bath, cutting your fingernails, shave your pubic hair, only have sex one specific way, don't eat a pig, wipe your butt this way after using the bathroom. Doesn't this seem bizarre compared to the Bible and Torah, which Muslims claim the Koran was made after? Why are there so many rules about control instead of having a spiritual relationship with their god, Allah? Perhaps I'm being naiive, but do Muslims really think Allah is worrying about their pubic hair????

I have searched the Bible off & on over the years & have found nothing that says angels have wings. Only the cherubim statues.
As a Christian I feel guilt when someone gives me an angel figurine as a gift. Should I feel guilty?
Thank you.

I came across an intereswting quote and thought I would share. Feel free, if you like to comment ...

"Christianity started out in Palestine as a fellowship; it moved to Greece and became a philosophy; it moved to Italy and became an institution; it moved to Europe and became a culture; it came to America and became an enterprise."

can you ask for forgiviness without giving a sacrifice and still be forgiving.... i am asking this because some christians claims that God wouldn't forgive except with a sacrifice, therefore Jesus is the sacrifice... i personaly don't think so, i believe God has the power of forgiviness, he can forgive by just raising ur hand toward him and ask him for forgiviness.

can u show me verses from the Torah to back up ur answer as well, that God already can forgive, no one need to die so to be forgiving.

I agree with you that God is not some old man sitting in heaven and waiting to judge us for things he or she invented in the first place. God is to me, only the mechanism for life and death and change. i.e. the universe itself is God. It doesnt think it just reacts

By all means, if you're going to hang out with a church, at least find one that is based on decent, humane ideas and doesn't promote bigotry. Unitarians, Quakers, Episcopalians and the United Church of Christ are a good place to start.
