You make a good point. When engaging in a dialogue, especially about contentious topics such as religion or politics, it is important to be respectful. Usually people who are negative or insulting feel threatened in some way.
Much of religion, however, cannot be discussed in terms of "facts" when issues of faith arise, however, to be respectful and to tolerate views other than your own is important to remember when engaging in such dialogues.

You are always going to find people on who dont have nice things to say about someone. Its called freedom of speach and by asking not to have any negative comments you are asking someone to not use the rights given to them.
I however do not give answers unless it is based on facts or my own personal feelings. I try to shy away from sending negative feed back if I feel it will hurt someone. People who are doing an honest days work and trying to make life better for their family should be treated as equal reguardless of race, religion or creed. Being on a forum like this gives everyone the chance to put in their two cents but that dosent mean that you should take to heart their ignorance.
**Note: I do however send negative feedback to those who are on here looking for the answer to their homework questions. Not the ones that you can tell have honestly been working on their project and are not looking for answers but help, Im talking about the ones with the fill in the blank questions. I feel that these kids should be doing their own work and express that in my answers.

They certainly can and should be more respectful, especially when it comes to answering sensitive questions about deeply held personal beliefs - if those questoins are not offensive or aggressive. The problem seems to be that a lot of these people are 12 or 13 years old (or they have the maturity of someone that age) and they are just mouthing off at everyone else. This is also true in the "Pets" section. I am really disturbed by those kind of people who think they are funny when they tell people they should subject their beloved pets to some kind of horrible death.
Please do not allow them to ruin your good mood or your day.

I understand your point, but it's usually the question that invokes such answers. When someone makes a question out of a statement per say. I see it a lot. When someone feels strongly against someone or something they will often ask rhetorical questions that will inspire criticism of the subject. I have not once seen a question about religion on this website, rather I have seen either questions about religious people, or comment-question hybrids that usually invoke only criticism when answered. I have been to presentations about Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and frankly, I think your all in the same book but on a different page. You need to start uniting and looking towards the future of your monotheistic faith. One God, one people my friend.

I agree with you, it is not religion that is evil it is the people within the religion that make it evil. Islam is no different than Christianity or Judaism, people can make it a wonderful thing or an evil thing. Myself I am not religious, but know where you are coming from.

it depends on the question. if you are asking for opinions, expect some negativity. and if you are just asking questions, take everything with a grain of salt.
