Hello, all:

I know that Wicca has priestesses -- that is, fully empowered female clergy -- but what other religions share that trait? I'm sure many of the other Neo-Pagan faiths do, and some Christian denominations...

In those faiths that do have female clergy, what functions, if any, do you feel that they fulfill that a male member of the clergy cannot?

1 Timothy 2
11A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. 13For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.

Saint Paul 1 Corinthians 14
As in all the congregations of the saints, 34women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. 35If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

Saint Paul Ephesians 5
22Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

Jesus prayed, "Holy Father, protect them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one, as we are one." John 17:11

Therefore, We please God when we embrace the diversity found among God's children.

What are your thoughts, perspectives about this?

Honestly, think about it for 1 second at least. Why would the all mighty vreator of the heavens and the earth have a son. Why would he need a son. He is so much superior then us and is pure. Even if Jesus was his son, why would he send his son down on earth to suffer and "die for peoples sins", when God could just forgive sins himself.

I mean come on people, the guy funding the thing is JAMES CAMERON, film maker. That's your first clue geniouses.
Secondly, your own mythology says jesus rose from the dead and floated (or flew or maybe walked up the stairway) to heaven bodily.
Then there is the embarrassing reality of having to deal with DNA from someone who was supposed to have been concieved by immaculate conception. So if the DNA of the father and son are a match, you know this isn't your man.
But I'm betting Cameron will make a fortune on this hoax. And well he should. Why should the con men at the pulpit be the only ones fleecing the gullible sheep?

I believe that there is some truth to that. He knew that occasionally we would need to unwind (not get drunk) but, just relax with friends and he provides libations for us. He is wonderful!

My ayah (my Kenyan[Africa] nurse) told me "money is the root of all evil'. Now at 61 yrs I KNOW she was 200% correct. Today I discovered the term Bling refers having jewellry (Yuk) and showing off wealth. I feel this is so REVOLTING.
Every day, like any normal person, I feel guilt for liking my house, my books, my computer and my food.
[I do NOT believe in god(- the bible disproves a god; also I've done bad things in my life so would not be entitled to believe in a supreme being)]
But some of these Satanic rappers are HYPOCRITICAL enough to talk about a god when they are worshipping a pagan god as in Babylon, ancient Mesopatamia and all those ancient historical places you learnt about at school.
Any-body else feel as revolted by this bling thing as I do. What can we do to stop it when people are starving as we write.
