God didn't have a son (before you think I'm crazy hear me out - I'm training to be a vicar so to some extent I do know what I'm talking about!)
The labels Father, Son and Spirit are just labels that best describe the relationship they have. In some ways the metaphor breaks down in that the Son didn't come after the Father but they have just always existed as 3 persons of the one being. So Jesus is "sonship", the Father is "fatherhood" etc. St Augustine described the trinity as "The Lover, the loved one and love" - I like that a lot but it misses out the fact that the Holy Spirit is a person as much as the others.
Your question about Jesus suffering and dying has puzzeled theologians for a long time - The most famous debate was between these two guys in the fourth century - Arius thought God was too pure to suffer and die therefore Jesus couldn't have been God... and besides there's only one God. However this other guy called Athanasius saw that he had been saved by Jesus so how could part of the creation save another part of the creation. He argued that Jesus must be outside creation - and one substance with the Father... ie God. Athanasius won and the Nicean Creed was formed that all churches all over the world sign up to.
Jesus being sent to die in our place sounds really cruel unless you see how he is the same being as the Father. Jesus was God forgiving sins himself.
Hope that makes sense and you find answers to your questions - or perhaps do a theology degree... though you'll probably just end up with a ton more questions!

First, you have to understand as the one who started the Human Family he helped us to understand the close relationship he has with the only thing that He, God created by himself. Hence, His Only Begotten Son. (See: Proverbs 8:22-31) & below
"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; 16 because by means of him all [other] things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, no matter whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All [other] things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all [other] things and by means of him all [other] things were made to exist"
Colossians 1:15-17
In staying with the laws he gave to his people, namely:
“‘And in case a man strikes any soul of mankind fatally, he should be put to death without fail. 18 And the fatal striker of the soul of a domestic animal should make compensation for it, soul for soul."
-Leviticus 24:17-18
"But if a fatal accident should occur, then you must give soul for soul, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot"
-Exodus 21:23-24
So, not taking his laws for granted, as he did not want any of his human creation to do, he stayed by his Perfect Law and His Son actually came willingly, knowing ahead of time what he would suffer, as he, at the time of his prehuman existance was in heaven with his Father.
He came to this earth fulfilling over 300 prophecies in order to right what Adam, Eve and Satan the Devil brought upon the human family.
This earth will be populated with perfect humans as this is the first purpose proposed at Genesis 1:28.
Also, notice that Isaiah knew of God's purpose as well:
"For this is what Jehovah has said, the Creator of the heavens, He the [true] God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it, He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited:" -Isaiah 45:18
This is how Jesus will become the Eternal Father that is mentioned at Isaiah 9:6. He bought back the everlasting life that Adam gave up ............ with, his own life.

It was all part of the plan. A plan of happiness, a plan of salvation. In order for us to be saved from our sins, and be able to return to God and live with him again, we had to have a savior. God is perfect and only those who are perfect can dwell with him. However, since man is not perfect, the chances of us living perfect lives while on earth was going to be slim. However, in God's infinite wisdom, the "plan" required him to send a Savior to the world to redeem us from our sins. That Savior would his his only begotten son in the flesh, Jesus Christ.
In order for mankind's sins to be atoned, Jesus Christ needed to come to this earth, and as a mortal, sacrifice his life for us, to make this atonement complete. The laws of justice demand it.
There accordingly, Jesus Christ came down to this earth, and with a mortal body lived his life free of sin, and as a sinless Savior died for us as a sacrifice to cleanse all of us from sin.

for proof that he is real. To show us humans that it is possible to still be nice, forgivable, and loving no matter how much hell you get put through! He is our ticket...he is our proof, that people can over come hard times...still love and forgive...and thats why he did it!
No matter how many times he got the blood beat out of him, no matter how many times he was humiliated, no matter how many times he felt UNLOVED, he was doing it so we would know it's possible...because forgiveness, love and overcoming hard times is what makes you a good person! and he stuck through all of that, just to give US proof that it is possible. Now tell my why he shouldn't be worshiped!!!!
What I am saying is....by Jesus forgiving us for what we did to him...thats pretty much the lord forgiving us for our sins...because Jesus is the lord in our form as a human!
there are 3 parts of the lord you must believe in and that is...Jesus the Holy Spirit and God...all these are forms of god!

You are absolutely right, He did not need to do anything.
God looked down and cried for us, we needed a saviour. In God's love, in His deep compassion, He realized that He was our only hope. He planned a rescue mission, a perfect one, one with all the care and revelance of the greatest of all love stories.
He reached down to us by taking upon Himself our form, so that we might come to know Him, and follow Him out of danger and death without Him and into light and saftey with Him. This form we know as His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus lived a perfect life for us which He would give to us so that we might live, He died for us so that we would not be sentenced to the second death, which is forever in the Lake of Fire. Our sins, our evil He left nailed to His cross to remain in the grave forever more.
Eternal life in joy with Him forever is the gift of love which He offers to us all, the only thing we have to do is accept it. In His eyes is a permanent, real, tender fire of love for us, and if we look hard into them, we can see our reflection.
HIs Love is True, His Love is real, and the proof, the evidence, is in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, who came to propose to His Bride, to marry her, and to whisk her away to be with Him forever more.

That's s very good question. Jesus' divinity wasn't established until 325 AD at the Nicene Council. Before then, he was not considered a savior, or a son of God.

It does not make any sense really that God has a son and to have sent down the son to be murdered as atonement of human sins.
I think there is need to find an interpretation if we will remain the rational creatures that put us above other creatures.

My religion teaches that in order for God to be perfectly just and perfectly merciful, there needed to be a Mediator: One Who could pay the price so justice could be satified and thus be able to extend mercy if He so chose. The person had to be mortal so He could die, but divine so He could gain control over death. That's just one explanation.

Only a God invented by humans would have or need a son, or would demand praise for creating them.

God had to enter this economy legally, not like that lying trespasser lucifer, so He came to us through the virgin birth!! The flesh is lessor than the Spirit, hence, the son!!
